One House Per Data Center

Square, I am sick and tired of entire housing wards belonging to one person. Sick and tired of hearing people brag about how they're going to get multiple houses for themselves. There should only be one house per data center and that's it. That's what should be fair.

LOL should have seen this one coming. Let's move the goal posts further. Got an apartment or an FC room? Well there's your housing, cannot own or buy a personal house or FC house. In an FC with a house? You can't even buy an FC room, your FC has a house! That should be enough.

Or... we could just ask SE to please reconsider how they go about doing player housing and design something that works for everyone and stop making it a finite resource.

There would be absolutely nothing wrong with Square Enix retroactively removing multiple plot ownership from previous rulesets. Give the individuals or FCs that own multiple plots 30-days to decide what they want to keep so the others can be vacated or auto demolished. Implement a calamity salvager function for housing plot items so nothing is lost either. If there's no response, just auto demolish based from newest to oldest until one plot is left. SE should even encourage users to be proactive about this up rewarding free game time as that at least offsets some of the negative PR.

You're joking right? Nothing wrong? Seriously anyone following the rules shouldn't be penalized because they change them. They will not retroactively enforce new rules they will only apply to new purchases.

You all need to get over your take away crusade this is nothing new here and the director has already made the decision to grandfather.

Even with the new rules they are allowing purchases on other servers and data centers when they certainty had the opportunity to limit purchases to one per account.

I’m entirely serious. Until they can design a housing system that’s not limited, they actually have to make the decisions to ensure a heavily limited housing system is as equal as possible for the player base that’s grown much faster than available plots.

If we stopped getting band aid fixes on top of each other and an actual roadmap to improve all aspects of the system, including things like the asinine restrictions on placing certain objects, we wouldn’t need this discussion anyway. For a system that the community and SE champion so much, it’s hard to actually have faith in what they’re doing to improve it when the communication sucks unless they’re apologising to us (see 6 blog posts on raffles as a prime example of this).

The thing is, they aren't going to. This has been hashed and rehashed in dozens of posts on this forum over the years and they have said repeatedly they are not going to do this.

How about just not making a shitty system worse? Direct your energy at asking SE for more and better housing instead of thinking up more punishment in the name of fairness. That's the one true fair path.

Edit: And to explain this further, hopefully so a few people understand better, the more we call to punish people to make housing more exclusive, the more likely SE is to mistake our calls and do just that, make housing harder to get.

Because that's what they will think we want!

Instead, put all energy into asking for better and more housing. Which gives no mixed messages to Yoshi-P that we like this exclusive, hard to get trophy housing. Make it clear we need more housing to go around - using whatever method they can do it with - but do it avoiding suggestion that make restrictions worse.

Let's move away from "we love housing extreme so much, but now let's make it harder for people so we can do Housing Ultimate!"
