You've had the last month to enjoy your new house. Everyone hit with the 0 bug has had to sit and wait for that month, many of them not at all sure if they'll win. I applaud SE for not being ridiculous about collecting the gil after this entire debacle.So... everyone that got affected by SE's 0 bug has the ability to get their house for free, but the people that didn't get affected by it still had to pay for their house? If that's how it actually is going to work I can't even... I'm hoping they mean that you can voluntarily pay for the house if you still want it, otherwise you don't pay and it gets added to the lottery pool again.

Everyone who didn't win also has to sit and wait for over a month while new FCs and accounts are being made that can bypass the 30 day timer on housing. What are they going to do about that fact? If they do nothing about it then new accounts and new FCs are going to sweep up the remaining plots and I guess it's "tough luck kid" till 7.1 when they finally add more plots.
What a great housing system, this system totally works fine. Remember that if you're dedicated enough in this game you will get a house and definitely cannot be gated from it by random luck and a severe lack of supply while some people own a whole ward to themselves!
Seems really unfair that those who paid get nothing back, while others get a house for free cos of SE mess up. Im in a small FC and took months to get the gil together for a medium house. People should have to pay at the placard or recind their win. That would be fair.

EW seems to be my lucky xpack in most bizarre and inflammatory fashion.
Earlier: release delay enabled me comfortably to go visit my friend, only chance I got last year, to other side of the country and come back home to enjoy the week one with everyone else. Otherwise my visit would have gracelessly landed on launch week.
Now, with Empyreum housing: I enlisted my FC buddy to help try upgrade my alt FCs house from small to medium. We put 2 tickets, all of our fc money at that time on nifty little med house and waited. 0 bug hit. We were the only 2 participants.
Since I have house for that FC already, I just thought "well, I guess it was not meant to be", asked my friend to take out the money and just move on. Next chance will come.
Sooner than I thought, though. Since some people had been able to relo to Empyreum, I noticed there was even nicer plot now free on one of the old housing wards. But by now the FC had money for 3rd ticket, so I enlisted another fc friend by bribing her with new teacup emote (first friend got mogstation emote too when bribery entered in game, no worries).
Now it looks like the originally bid Empyreum house is free(???), + I have made money for 4th ticket, and my dye mule will buy that one I guess. So if it is only possible, I think I'll accept the Empyreum plot as failsafe upgrade, and try my luck with that nicer old housing ward plot. Yay... °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
Since my scheme is so evil I am also highly considering tossing some money to that 6.2 NPC... if I have any left at that point.

Maybe make the house free up until patch 6.2, then you must pay the NPC to keep it or lose the home back to the lottery.

This housing system is so flawed. It's really unfortunate.
If their policy is going to be that the people who won a house in the first lottery but got screwed by SE's 0 bug don't have to pay for their house, the only fair thing they can do is that all the houses in the first lottery should be free. That brings about a whole different issue about now people will complain that they had to pay for their houses in the past and in the future and these people don't. This whole thing is a an absolute disaster in my opinion and it isn't and won't get better since SE refuses to make housing available to everyone. The issue is when people do not have the full gil anymore. Even if they want to pay, but cant, it would deny them the house, which would be unfair. And it gets worse with individual and FC diffirences.
For individuals you can apply a tax to all their gil incomes so rewards are reduced by 50%, but that other 50% is used to pay the gil (where the voluntarily deposit speeds up this process).
While for FC's you can demand them to deposit a certain value each week. Simply because you dont know who is supposed to pay (and also takes the issue FC wide instead of a few players).
But yes, if they get their house for free, this would be even more unfair. The gil those people would obtain is for many players a very significant value. And worse, as RMT people are still abusing the housing market, those people can obviously use that gil for that purpose, making that issue also worse.
I wish I won a house in the lottery, regardless if I had to wait an extra month to get the house. The fact is that the people who won via the 0 bug will still have a house while the vast majority of the player base won't. Even more so they will have a house they paid nothing for and just had to wait an extra month to receive it. There is no fair answer to the way to approach it. It just proves how much of a disaster the whole system is and why it needs to be completely changed.

I would say the housing problems are clearly a Poopshow at this point. People who lost a house are still going to be unable to even bid on a house until {gasp} people getting a free home claim their plot in an additional 10 day period. sorry but at this point if a free home and the month wait hasn't made you want to rush and claim your plot in a regular 4 day window, well then do you really need a house? Ridiculous. Perhaps between now and the middle of June they will find another way to drag this out. Yes, I know people work... nice try, but the normal window cycle is more than enough at this point. I feel the cult leaders at Enix are just pointing and laughing at us.
Exactly!! i'm darned furious with the idea that people are gonna get housing for free because of the system bugout. discount them, i'm down for. FREE?! heck no. or refund ALL housing from the opening lot, because thats stupid
