On a more serious note, I'm sorry to inform you that SE has strayed away from FFXII's concept art and gone onto the FFT:Advance realm.
notice the similies in design and color with every job's af? realism went down the balcony (with tanaka).

actually shiny weapons would only fit 4 jobs. Pld with enlight. drks with endrk. redmage with the other en spells. and if they did the open cutscene where it looks like he Thm or cnj couldnt tell, gave the Arc a fire affect with the arrow.
Oh goodness...just what I need more effects that are gonna lag everything.


Aside from the AF, the retarded looking Class only weapons, and the primal weapons (which make sense), no. The realism has stayed, for the most part. These three categories are the only things in the game that seem out of place.
They've been doing a decent job of adding their own flair to the game without butchering the realism that was originally intended. I want them to keep it that way.
Also the Paladin relic is glowing, if you bothered looking at the 2.0 concept art.
Guessing you're not aware that there were Final Fantasy games before FF7.
Screw realism in my Final Fantasy, the AF gear is currently some the coolest looking shit in the game.



Actually, I have had a change of heart.
I would like to see an effect on weapons of some sort ONLY IF the player is in active mode AND the player is under some sort of En-spell effect (Enfire, Enlight, Enwater, etc). That would actually be pretty wizard.
As long as it's not too flashy.
