"Its not our game anymore."
What has changed so drastically that would warrant this statement?
Game goes f2p or makes some fundamental changes I don't care for.
I have no issues with patch schedules or content. Never have.
Well, the clinic is only open until 5pm so I guess the vets leave around 6?
Game goes F2P or Crypto would more likely see me permanently vacate it.
Uh-oh, trash statements being edited so others can't comment directly again? Shocker.
Final Fantasy "token"
Vets will leave when their shift is over or when they found a solution for the ever growing bunny and cat population, say no to bunny and cat. Save the endangered Roegadyn.
I suppose what would make me leave after all these years is making the game have a meta. Having high end content only ask for certain jobs like it did back in Heavensward to even clear/enjoy the raids.
The last 2 years is the ONLY time that I have been able to actively get in a raiding group and partake in high end content. The Static I joined makes it a point to accept ALL raid comps as viable (which they are to everyone's surprise).
If FFXIV goes back to this level of thinking were 1 job has a drastic edge over the other, then you will see an even heavier stress over logs and DPS meters.
Which brings up my next point. I have been enjoying some WoW Burning Crusade Classic lately in between my thurs-fri raid times. And the evidence is clear to me after playing FFXIV for so long and going back to WoW for fun. WoW is fun....but the community makes it NOT fun.
All I see literally on REPEAT in Lookingforgroup channel is BOOST RUNS, KARA run CHECKING LOGS, WTS LOOT RUNS, STRAT RUN 15g...no loot. 50g for w/loot. BLACK TEMPLE RUN checking logs no trash apply. Now you can avoid all of this and post your own raid...but be prepared to wait...a...long....long.....LONG time until you get enough people.
This....this right here is what is ruining WoW...and having Blizzard allow and embrace this with the WoW token....clearly show's me the huge differences of design styles.
FFXIV just continues to buck the horrible things that have poisoned the well of WoW. The strong stance on the ToS and pushing back toxic behavior, the strong stance on balance of all jobs so everything is viable, the strong stance on content that has appeal to all vs. just the raiding crowd.
After playing maybe 30 days of WoW BC Classic...it's a good experience if you enjoy the journey. The endgame is atrocious as it ONLY allows those with knowledge of a fight and flat out refuses those that can't "PUMP" the damage....even the tanks. "Why would you pick a troll for a hunter...orc is better! *kicked*" "Prot tank is terrible DPS, we take the bear tank...*kicked*" This is chatter you will receive regularly, and it's simply appalling some of the stuff people say to one another. Makes me miss FFXIV and how there is a convention among the players that is followed. People respect others more...a lot more.
Yoshi P is incredibly strong against everything that destroyed WoW, while he understands what made it great. Community! And we start to see an about face with WoW and it's new expansion. After losing DROVES of players they do a complete about face saying that we decided to take a new direction with this next expansion. Yoshi P knows this...I don't understand why nobody else can see it also.
If FFXIV no longer caters to the casual crowd....it to will suffer the same fate as WoW. The grass is DEFINETLY greener on the FFXIV side. And blizzard knows it....maybe this is enough to wake them up.
