If chat is disabled to prevent toxicity, you should not be allowed to report for that

If disabling chat does not, in any way, prevent toxicity, and CC is just as toxic with chat disabled, then why even bother disabling chat?
Enable it, so that we can communicate and coordinate, the quick chat functions and the markers cannot replace chat because there is always a possibility of miscommunication and misunderstanding.
If chat is disabled to prevent toxicity, then make it so it is not possible to get punished for toxicity in CC.

1- who said that CC is just as toxic with chat disabled? hasn't been my experience.
2- why should disabling chat lead to not reporting players who take advantage of quick chat- and I'm going to assume that you know or have experienced exactly how that's possible. It's really not necessary to list it heer and SE has already provided examples. all of them may not be "toxic' but they really are seen as sarcastic, poor sportmanship and even abusive by some people.

If you're going to start with a premise this deeply flawed, you're not giving folks much reason to read the rest of what you wrote.
There are already threads discussing the pros and cons of Quick Chat on the first page, and you're not adding anything of value to the topic.

They have a valid point. If spamming nice job is reportable then might as well let a player call others idiots in normal chat and still be reported.

The purpose of the quick chat was to prevent abuse. But they underestimate. We can turn anything into abuse. We can spam quick chat options. Spam emotes. Run around the person we do not like counter clockwise to symbolize how they are holding us back.

They would be better off letting us chat so that when someone is being toxic it is easier to prove and report.

Would actually REDUCE the toxicity in the long run since they would actually get caught.

It is easier to just mute toxic people for a month.

I'm definitely more inclined to enable people who want chat with top tier defenses like this lmfao

It is quite natural in any competitive Game that things can get heated up really quickly if given the right spark to do so. Sure, it isn't nice to be on the recieving end of being called a Noob, a Wintrader or something far worse, but most of the time, all those People ever do is vent for a couple Messages and then after one Hour, they completely forget you even exist. Even if you dont want to hear any of this stuff, all you need to do is use the Blacklist function and you already got your peace of mind sorted out.

FFXIV always had and still has, a good number of People who will still call you out on the most mundane things, just to passive agressively tell you to get gud and how much of a scrub you are, this happened in EVERY Feast match and it will most certainly be that way in Crystal Conflict as well. Personally, i take big joy out of those messages simply because how silly some people can become, but i can only advice one thing about toxicity in general:

NEVER take it seriously. So what if some random guy talks shit about you on the Internet? what is he going to do? shoot your dog? call the cyberpolice on you to arrest you for underperforming on FFXIV PvP?

This Game makes "inappropiate Language" a way bigger deal than it actually is, what happened to the old saying "Sticks and Stones may break my Bones, but Words can never hurt me?".

I almost want them to enable chat, just to read all the new drama about how chat isn’t actually being used for strategic tacticool spec ops briefings like a lot of players here seem to be expecting. It’s gonna be hysterical when some hardstuck player tries to enlighten their team with their divine art-of-war-inspired plan to touch dongs on the crystal, and their team just yells back to stfu and do what they want instead, because everyone always thinks everyone else is bad/throwing when a game goes badly

What a bad take, so can only be white or black right? Or there is no chat and people cant be toxic or there is chat and people is toxic, SURE.

People can be toxic even without quick chat, emoting to laugh over your body.

Chat is not the only source of toxicity, stop trying SE to put a chat in the game so you all can go afk at base to chat your frustrations of how bad is your team.

That phrase was and always has been copium for the people hurt by words the most.

At least quick chat makes it so no one has the "I was typing" excuse while afking at spawn.
