When is PLD Getting Fixed So It Can Be a VIABLE Tank?

Greetings!

First off let me state that I already know there's a myriad of problems with PLD. I know there are lots of threads about the problems still plaguing PLD so I won't go into any of that.

All I want to know is how/when does SE plan address PLD's issues? A dev. response with actual time frame would be nice considering both 2.0 & PS3 beta are right around the corner and the gap between PLD & WAR is still very vast.

I really have no problems tanking as PLD. I don't see what this gimpness people are talking about is.

We use a PLD for Garuda and AV speedruns so it's not like it's impossible, but hey lets all moan for a bit.

Yea, we also use it for AV. It's 15 minute voke also makes it best at tanking miser with all the damage dealt now.

Honestly, with all the minor changes and the HUGE shield update, I haven't had any problems tanking anything lately. I've even heard of PLDs being included in speed runs!

Have been also tanking everything on PLD (Garuda/AV CC speedruns). I will take any improvements of course.

PLD isn't that bad now. In FFXI, players would wait a bit for tanks to build hate on wyrms before nuking. We either need to switch out Speed Runs for something like "One of each job" runs (for additional loot) or just give PLD something that matches Antagonize + Collusion + AF Helm for burst Enmity+. Maybe something like a bonus +1000 Enmity trait on the first thing you do when engaging a mob... or +3000 hate on all abilities while Hallowed Ground is active. PLD either needs burst hate or the loot systems need to force people to use it, otherwise WAR is just faster, even if it's arguably not safer anymore.

The problem we have now is that players currently playing XIV are accustom to SPEED KILLING stuff- That's se's fault for creating parties from rank 1-50 without a tank -.-...
Paladin is OK- Whitemage tank is also ok- War can dps and tank thats why people use that c.C and colus*

We've only used PLD as tank for our speed runs since the patch, so long war! We run into 0 issues having a pld main tank and in fact find it more enjoyable for the runs.

Pld needs to be more like Templar from Aion, that was the most fun tank class ive ever played in an mmo, its pull skill was epic and defined the entire class and made it useful.
