Song instacast, can I have it?

The way FFXIV deals with wandering parties its very hard to make players stand still while battling.

I'd like for all songs to be instant, like swift song.

Songs are buffs that show their efficiency over the course of battle, not instantly. Being able to sing a song five seconds earlier won't make a significant difference in the outcome of a battle.

Yeah but the thing is, stoneskin has an immediate impact on battle outcome.
An instant stoneskin could save a person, while a song wouldn't.

I'd even be okay if songs had delay to kick into effect

Buffs all have a benifit the moment you put them on, so yes making it faster to cast not only would have more benifit over time, it would also free the bard up to do more damage in that time spent singing.

It might not seem like it but making the songs insta-cast would effect how bards are played and how strong their buffs are. It's like telling me that Corsair shouldn't spend time "Rolling" their buffs it's part of the class mechanics. Time spent rolling buffs is time spent not shooting, it's a balancing act of wether you were happy with that roll or if your willing to risk the time and DPS to have a chance at a better roll or a bust.

Its up to the players. If they want the buff, then they should stay still for a couple of seconds. They can't complain if they don't get it.

I can't complain too much, because they were very generous with the recast of the songs. But I have thought of this too.
