Might be time to separate the console and PC players

then they could have officially sanctioned world first races and pvp tournaments on console in an environment where they wouldn't have to worry about cheaters

For what it's worth, i play on PC.

Over the last day or two, i actually stopped caring about the addons discussion entirely because i'm more surprised, watching all of the different takes and arguments coming out, at how the general response to people being told by yoshi that consoles play a big part of the broader discussion is to either completely ignore that as a factor, or be more actively aggressive toward them for "holding back the game". Even as someone who purposely avoids finding the uglier sides of the community, this is really turning into a prime "GCBTW" moment for me, and it's disappointing.

TBH I'd say you're just seeing parts of society in general mostly. The attitudes and mindsets you've been finding disappointing are prevalent outside the game as well over things like law enforcement actually enforcing laws because ppl think said laws aren't important. The same type of people will crawl out of whatever holes they've been hiding in to make excuses as to why they don't have to follow it or attempt mental gymnastics to try and convince ppl that the police are evil and the people that broke the law are just victims.

What Op say would never happen, would need to run two sets of servers and more as well..

If you find the head hunt for third party tools annoying, maybe you should read up on the ToS of most MMO's that is actually PC only and find out that it is also there prohibited activity, for good reasons.
