That fear is somewhat understandable.
But I think it is a double edged sword.
Because if you just stay in your own group of people and don't really interact with these maybe transphobic people, then they don't know that these kind of "jokes" actually hurt the feeling's of other's.

They will not know that LGBTQ+ people can just be as nice as everyone else.

I want to point out that being LGBT friendly doesn't necessarily mean it's an LGBT only FC. I advertise my FC as "people that like Dark Souls and cats, LGBT friendly" and like, we do have several LGBT members but I'm pretty sure like, most of my FC isn't LGBT. We are brought together by our love of Dark Souls and cats. I don't really care what someone's gender/orientation/race/religion/etc is when they apply to my FC, just be cool to each other and maybe sometimes help out our members that are stuck on Malenia in Elden Ring. (I only care that you invested points into vitality before we go fight her)

What I don’t get is why some people feel the need to broadcast your orientation to the world. If it comes up organically in a conversation then so be it. It’s weird and cringy otherwise.

I can very much understand that. That's why I don't go into my preferences. I refuse to allow my sexuality to be my difining trait, so I keep it off the table for discussion unless someone asks, and I ask them to take it to private chat.

I do my best to remain dignified, even if i have faulty wiring.

LGBTQ+ is just a thing FCs do for advertisement. I have never been in an FC that wasn't LGBTQ friendly. I hate the use of the ad because it implies that any FC that doesn't advertise it is probably phobic, and they aren't. I've never seen an FC anywhere say, "No LGBTQ allowed" or "Straight/Cis Only" or "Cis Inspired". Hell, those FCs would probably face extreme backlash if they truly wished to advertise that way.

It's absolutely redundant to advertise it, people are just in the habit of doing it because it gains clicks. This is already the most LGBTQ+ friendly game I have ever played.

The only phobic/racist people I have ever met were from statics. The hardcore endgame world racing environment type of statics. I've been in some of those discord calls and they are slurring everything. It's like in the Military when they try to break you down and show you who's in charge here and that they don't give no shits. (Not justifying it, just describing what goes on there). The only way they respect you is if you are already an influencer of the community or you are helping them win. For them respect is earned and until it is, they treat everyone very poorly. The best way to deal with them is to get a backbone more often than not.

So if someone set up an Asian FC, Hispanic FC Liberal FC , Conservative FC, Homosexual FC, Hetrosexual FC or any other FC That's perfecrtly fine. there's nothing discriminiatory about any of those. even if you felt excluded from some or maybe all of them.

I see where you're coming from but I don't think you would get away with advertising a heterosexual fc. As for what the OP is saying I sort of agree it shouldn't be needed, but there is still too many small minded people so unfortunately people still need to.

Don't. One should be normal to people based on a person's actions, not their LGBT++++ attitude. Such labels will only increase the negativity in their direction by their special labeling.

Kinda narrow-minded for some people here to think it's just a bunch of virtue signaling or that it's mostly gay people bringing the fact that they're gay all the time, and it's narrow-minded people that make it so FCs feel the need to advertise as LGBTQ+ friendly because, in our case with my FC personally, we try to avoid any drama. We want our small community to be a safe space and there's nothing wrong with wanting that. If there's an issue in the FC we discuss it before it blows up just so we don't have to deal with drama. There's people from all walks of life. I myself am trans and having to come out as trans in previous FCs/guilds sucks because you don't really know if people are accepting of that or not.
