only one thing i want as a console player is mods XD and looking better in gpose . besides that ... it can be difficult but everything is possible . parses or something different .. like im not sure what people using as addons .. since i cant use them i need to learn live without them . many people here talking about how this game is easy .. well xD time to say goodbye to addons then i guess

It's not as if it's botting or changing player parameters, no, but it does supply additional information to an extent essentially allows a player to bypass a sub-mechanic (that is, reading the cues of the mechanic).

Does it do anything wholly new? No. Can what it does for the player be replicated through default in-game capacities? Yes. But does it significantly allow for particular, non-redundant player interactions to be removed from a fight? Also yet.

This is still, of course, referring to certain extremes; it's not as if the system itself demands that it be used to provide that level of advantage.

That is the same reason, though, you see plug-in distributors police themselves, drawing a line between

1. what simply makes already existent capacities more accessible in ways that'd be technically and practically redundant for all but a subset of players who could particularly benefit from them (see: disability-aimed plugins) and
2. plugins that (can) present altogether new capacities or significantly allow players to bypass mechanics within the fights themselves (as opposed to just, say, hitting an equally fixed and singular progression of 1-2-3-4-5 instead of a single button for a single decision).

Sometimes a plugin is even removed from a distro just because it moved from that a plugin that "can" provide that further advantage to one that "does". Both those that can and those that do are still the rarities, practically outliers, but they do exist.

This code is 100% public in the Cactbot Github, which I will not link to for obvious reasons. It's an excerpt from the DSR fight module, specifically showing the relatively involved series of operations it performs to determine the safespot during one of Thordan1's first trio mechanics. If you want to confirm the code yourself, and see many more examples like the EX3 5head solver, its a simple google away.

It's solving the mechanic for the group. It's akin to using a chess computer to solve your moves in a chess game, but claiming it isn't cheating because you're still the one physically moving the pieces.

Edit: Apparently having an addon that tells you, if you already claimed a Triple triad card / Orchestrion roll is also toxic, because apparently it's not fair that i'm able to know on what I have/not and while the others do not. (This is before they implemented these changes into the game.)

I mean, it definitely improves consistently and reduces the learning curve. Just because it only makes it somewhat easier doesn't mean it still isn't cheating.

There's a big difference between having to identify something on the spot and having something doing it for you. Guides do not do it for you.

I'm not even someone who has a moral objection to Cactbot (or cheating in general that doesn't directly modify the tools available in-game) so falsely equating the two isn't gonna work on me.
