Eh, have you been playing the same game as me? I am still trying to figure out how this game won best community award in the first place.

This community said I was a racist, cause I said I thought the developers have gotten lazy.

I'm guessing because the in-game community is vaaaaastly different than all that crotchety folk that live on the social sites. The online community is absolute rubbish while the in-game community isn't the worst. Granted, I personally wouldn't claim this to be the best community, but then I've been living on the forums/subreddits since the beginning and I've seen far too much of the obnoxious side. Hard to separate the two at times.

We do think rather highly of ourselves though, and that in itself is incredibly annoying.

Again, people are just afraid to speak their mind in-game. That's why you see more passive-aggression in-game and feigned positivity. You should see what some of these people post, where they aren't afraid of repercussions.
