Honestly, I think we all just need to take a step back and look at ourselves beyond the clown makeup.

This community has been getting so toxic lately. We can argue, complain and moan about the stuff thats been happening lately but frankly I think we all just need to take a break from FFXIV and ourselves and go do other things.

I'm guessing because the in-game community is vaaaaastly different than all that crotchety folk that live on the social sites. The online community is absolute rubbish while the in-game community isn't the worst. Granted, I personally wouldn't claim this to be the best community, but then I've been living on the forums/subreddits since the beginning and I've seen far too much of the obnoxious side. Hard to separate the two at times.

We do think rather highly of ourselves though, and that in itself is incredibly annoying.

Again, people are just afraid to speak their mind in-game. That's why you see more passive-aggression in-game and feigned positivity. You should see what some of these people post, where they aren't afraid of repercussions.

This is what happens when moderators seemingly don't do anything and allows certain threads to continue.

Anyway, I didn't renew my sub and won't be back until maybe the next major patch. Still, I do feel sorry for those who have to keep subbing in order to keep their house

Correction: This community has always been toxic. Just in a passive aggressive and coddled sort of way. People flip out over the slightest bit of criticism even if worded politely because how dare you ask a healer to DPS, a tank to use CDs or a DPS to stop being hit by everything. The GCBTW meme exists for a reason.
