Don't like the rules in the ToS? No one is forcing you to play, a game with rules you don't agree with. You can all post threads about how you'll be unsubbing unless they allow Addons, ect. if you want.

I'm sure that the community, and SE, will recover from losing people who require Addons, ect. to be good at end-game content.

I hear that there is another large MMO game out there, that encourages the use of Addons, UI Mods, and alike. I bet they would just love having so many pro gamers, come over and showcase their strengths in raiding w/ addons.
They already allow add-ons lol, they always have. They've just told people to be discreet with them more-or-less once you get through corporate speak. And btw the amount of people who use addons are bigger than you think, it's not just raiders, but gposers/housers/rpers as well, so if they really wanted to implement an anti-cheat or something close to that, they're pretty much going to take out a huge population of people who have nothing to do with raiding lol. If you think they're going to start banning people enmasse for addons, you're crazy.

Not only this but if they implement anything similar to what 7 day to die had it was flagging mouse software, graphics drivers that were out of date by a month, keyboard software, and other random things that had nothing to do with cheating. There was also a game that was flagging anything below windows 10, so if you tried to play the game it would prevent you until you installed windows 10 due to 'security risks' windows 7 may or may not have. I can't remember which game it was but remember not touching it with a ten foot pole.

Edit: I almost forgot one game was also flagging OBS as a cheating software.

    They don't allow them.

They strictly say no addons. They just don't actively go after people.

If you use them in plain sight, you will get banned.

What do you think the word "discreet" means? Yeah of course they won't allow it in plain sight and they outright have to disallow it in some capacity. But they also mention they can't/won't search your computer for them, so up to you on how you want to interpret that.

Yes yes, I am certain that they will.

But those people who don't raid, have the raiding community, streamers, and other content creators to blame for it.

People just wanted to change up their characters, clothing options, and certain graphic enhancements for great photos. However due to the putzes who broadcasted their use of Addons and alike, they have forced SE's hand to take action, not against one part of the community but the community as a whole, because idiots can't play a game, a game mind you that is super easy, without Addons holding their hand.

I'm sure that as SE looks into this, they could take a more lenient approach to those who, use cosmetic/graphical mods opposed to the, "Raiding is srsbsnss community." who demands that they can use Addons to give themselves an advantage in content. I hope all these Meta-slave world firsters, are rethinking their approach to content, or their "Accomplishments." may not be valid anymore.

BTW SE has taken action against GPosers before, sanctioning accounts for posting NSFW modded shots of their character on twitter. But I guess we can't blame those people right?

And you can't have one without the other. Maybe people who "just wanted to change their characters and clothing options" and use "graphical enhancements" should just deal with the tools and options SE has given them. I mean they can take great shots without addons holding their hands so why do they have to resort to using mods to achieve poses you couldn't normally do in the game?

Same thing with housers, just deal with the glitches and don't use addons that can't sink furniture into the walls/floor more than the game glitches allow you to. If you're already glitching them, then why the need for addons right? If they don't like the rules of the ToS, no one is forcing them to play, they can move onto a game that allows them to dress up their character or decorate their house however they wish with their addons.

I entertain myself on these forums (plus there's good enough entertainment without me adding to it), I don't need anyone to do that for me. :P I'm just trying to figure out why some addons are okay but not the others? If we can't use dps meters or buff raid timers why can housers use addons to sink furniture beyond game limits or gposers use features not added in the game innately? It's either all okay or none of it is.

They have not "forced SE's hand." They've been doing the thing theyve been doing for YEARS at this point. SE could continue to ignore it, as they always have. Instead they've chosen to placate a small number of people who complain about the "authenticity" of the UNOFFICIAL world first race that they barely acknowledge. SE could also give clear guidelines regarding add-ons, after all they have basically said GSHADE is ok already. Just tell people that if you use a parser any harassment whatsoever in or out of the game, for any reason, is going to be a zero-tolerance bannable offense. Tell people that UI customization is OK, since it is literally a cosmetic change and thats it. This zero-tolerance approach to add-ons is nonsense.

It's even more amusing when you consider that even the addons that do give an advantage, don't give one in the world first race. Because the timeline of the fight needs to be put into the program first for it to be able to do anything. Which requires people clear the fight first.
