Pretty sure I would care if I had to sit next to this guy. It would be hard to learn if I'm stuck smelling Mr. Tighty-Whities' dinner the entire time, and I don't think a Snickers will sate the hunger I'm developing.

A lot of what is going on comes from a place of jealousy or spite. Many people don't like streamers, so them using addons is "flaunting" it. It doesn't matter whether or not they themselves are using a variety of body mods or not. It can't be ignored because they are living "rent free" in many of these people's heads. This is their chance to get back at the streamers.
