    FFXIV Rules: Far too rigid?

While the system has been effective to a degree to ensure a sleek & safe community, at times I cannot help but even having the slightest constructive criticism & or just rather pointing out flaws can risk you the chances to be targeted for a warning or ban?

This not a direct response regarding mods or any personal occurrences on my end, just curious,

Seeing the highlights of the forums being over flooded with such concerns it makes me question the absence of the devs or any other follow ups regarding any ongoing concerns (from 6.1’s & forward).

It’s rather nerver wrecking you feel unsafe to use the PvP chat & includingly use words like “No not right” or “GG/ good job” which are hardly provoking & can you get target by reports or whoever’s using them; read so many accounts on that.

Just how far & rigid are these rules?

Was this a response from WoW’s migration to modding to 6.1 & anything else beyond?

I for one am a solely believer to reinforce rules to maintain consistency & a rather best playing environment for anyone as possible & yes there will always be incursions & that’s part of society,

Just how much further does these rules has to be reinforces? Feels far very rigid,

    Anyways just my thoughts

Been playing since 2.0 beta and never had a mod intervention.

as a generally decent human being, with basic respect and decency towards all fellow players, I dont find the rule "too rigid" at all.

I chat away with people and have never felt any fear of being warned or banned.

pvp chat is always going to be contextual and cannot be reliably used as a yardstick since that kind of competition invariably brings out less than ideal attitudes.

the forums are hardly any indicator of a problem one way or the other, since most claims here are intended for attention and drama.

    Very true,

Couldn’t agree more with you on that,

I believe its the yearning impulse that so most (not all) players seems wanting to express,

The whole ordeal it’s either an unnecessary drama or just feels very “grey” as everything seems very subjective, yet all the same seems to yield ongoing pessimism that’s still circulating about,

That was a very great point!

the concerns about pvp chat are a little pearl clutching at best

saying Nice Job/GG ONCE in sarcasm/satire/irony/whatever is no different than ppl typing 'gg' at the end of FL matches that ended with a score of 1600/1500/400 when they're on the team with 400

the ppl that are getting in trouble for quick chat are spamming the messages in petulant rage
like 10+ times in quick succession creating a wall of the same text in the chat log

If you've never actually seen it consider yourself fortunate but it is painfully obvious "okay that's bad" when you see it

No, people are just used to western style mmorpg moderation where people rarely get punished for bad behaviour.

Reality is, ff14 is simply trying to follow the tos instead of ignoring it like most western mmos

The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.

You can't tell the difference between saying "Good Game!" once at the end of a match, and saying it 30 times when you die in PvP? You're just being facetious. Nobody has to dance around the rules if they just act with common decency.

On the contrary there’s the decency of any discernment & have awareness whenever someone compliments “GG” vs. The sarcasm/sublet insult & spamming a walk text of it; which I have seen both sides of the spectrum

You won't be banned for politely framed constructive criticism.

Most often this conception is rooted more in that a lot of people have no idea how to frame their points without being insulting at the same time, i.e having no idea where the line actually is for not being rude, so they retreat a full mile behind it and claim that position is where the line is for what you can be banned for.

I think they need to enforce the rules more and make people really pay for doing things against the ToS, because I see people constantly doing such... eg ein the hunt.. some people warp from homeworld to homeworld as in even skipping zoning before the zone to the next one or aetheryte travel.. that just kan keep on doing that... and never get punished.

Same with any other stuff, it is like people can't play the game as it is.. and need all kinds of assists and the likes.
