As they've said 100s of times so far, please use common sense regarding 3rd party tools. If it's not doing anything they could ever detect (like automated play), they don't care. The examples people keep throwing around are out of context (aka "Excel is next omg!") YoshiP simply said it would be stupid to make a list and/or expect the devs to check EVERY possible software to create some kind of whitelist. As in, theoretically someone could use things even like Excel to possibly create automated macros to cheat. After reading this Final Fantasy XIV Regarding Third-party Tools news post about Third-party Tools, if i did read correctly the "Defining Third Party Tools" part of the post.
Does it really mean that i can't use gaming software like Logitech G Hub to bind CTRL + [number] key press for my Logitech G600 MMO mouse G buttons and Corsair iCUE to bind Alt + [number] key press for my Corsair K95 keyboard G keys to able to press CTRL + [number] and Alt + [number] more easily without needing to look the keyboard to press right CTRL + [number] or Alt + [number] key combination all the time?
If it really means that, then i'm i really in trouble now for using them for while?
It's not the specific things you're using, but how you're using them.
They don't care if you're doing QoL stuff for yourself, they really truly don't. In the case of a gaming mouse, they don't care. But if you show it on streams and it somehow allows you to AFK mass craft, then we've got a problem.

Automated inputs are not allowed in any online video-games as far I know. Is not only this one.
I'm not pushing an agenda here. I'm just telling you it is what it is. Yes Geforce Experience can alter the appearance of the game as well. You can run wild with this information.Yeah nice logic, since people are saying that you should be banned from using logitch or any keyboard-mouse software, why not ban also geforce experience? maybe even ban windows users because you have services running on background.
Seriously mod/addons players got cracked hard this time.
If you want my opinion on the matter the statement pushed by SE is really vague.
Yep. A lot of people might think that you and others (including myself) are being disingenuous about this, but SE decided to muddy the waters quite a bit. Do I think that Nvidia and AMD driver software will result in a ban? Not really, no. But we can't be 100% sure of anything right now. That's the entire point. We don't know.
Are we in a zoo?
So many parrots lmao.
It's precisely as allowed or not allowed as it has always been.
Are you a high profile streamer? If not, carry on.
Is it a bad thing to ask a question in forums?
But the "Regarding Third-party Tools" news post did state this "We have received requests from players asking that we define what tools are and aren’t permissible, but to do so would require an assessment of all third-party tools available on the internet, as well as all gaming devices and their functionality. Unfortunately, such an undertaking is physically impossible, which is why we decided to simply prohibit the use of all third-party tools and software" which means using gaming software that comes with gaming devices is not allowed.
Well i'm using common sense not to use gameing software features like macro and other things that can be use to automate inputs. As they've said 100s of times so far, please use common sense regarding 3rd party tools. I know using automated inputs with 3rd party software is not allowed in any online game which is why i only use combined keybinds that are supported in-game it self, just like in FFXIV where i can bind Alt + [number] and CTRL + [number] keybinds and then i use gaming software of my gaming keyboard and mouse to bind them to G buttons to make easier to press those combined keybinds when i simply can't press Alt + [number] and CTRL + [number] keybinds without looking the keyboard all the time to press correct keybind combination.
Well other then that it would be better if i don't any risks anymore by using gaming software that came with my gaming keyboard and mouse to bind Alt + [number] and CTRL + [number] keybinds on single G button due to change to get banned for using them.
So now i star using controller again after not using a controller on FFXIV for years when it's now only option to able to easily press all needed hotbar slots i need for skills and other actions without looking the controller to press right buttons all the time.

I always understood it as actual botting(gameplay automation, not simple macros) to be taboo, and the aesthetic or minor QOL things were more or less a "don't ask don't tell" policy.
Basically, don't be a dumbass and keep it to yourself.
