But its third party. So okay, it is hardware and not software even if there might be software involved in order to instal it on a playstation. But it still is not something that comes with the game, or even a playstation. Therefor it gives those users an advantage over playstation players. So it is literally cheating.

EDIT: I hate that we, as players of the game, are so easily divided, purely because SE just can't get their ToS clear. The Japanese culture that condones and rewards doxing really does not help.

Have you never read a ToS in your life before ( wait, most people don't )?
ToS are rarely as ultra specific as people seem to think they always cast a wide net so that if they choose to act they can just point to it.
When you start getting too specific it also enters realms of absurdity and people will find ways around it to do things that are meant to not be okay just because it's not specifically mentioned.
If you're too specific then people will take it as an okay to go ahead and do things that weren't specifically mentioned even tho they're obviously not okay.

No one above the age of 9 uses the same mindset people are displaying on this forum in regards to this.
In real life people understand what is being implied and can use some common sense but suddenly online people act like SE is their parent and they think they're clever because they extrapolated the most absurd interpretation out of something that they said.

The crafting window in 2.0 use to work a little different. With the macro you could craft unlimited with one macro. Just like a bot would. Some people "claim" that they got punished for that. The window no longer works that way.



People A) need to relax and B) think a little. How many bans have actually been reported? I don't really watch streamers, but I thought they knew not to have stuff all over there screen. At least the few I have seen weren't showing anything. No one knows what type of weird thing you have on your PC. I do find the player card bans a little strange considering those were made completely in game without mods.

Some of the bans are funnily enough for something that is specifically mentioned as not allowed, which is advertising the use of them.
But then people conveniently ignore that.

After reading this Final Fantasy XIV Regarding Third-party Tools news post about Third-party Tools, if i did read correctly the "Defining Third Party Tools" part of the post.

Does it really mean that i can't use gaming software like Logitech G Hub to bind CTRL + [number] key press for my Logitech G600 MMO mouse G buttons and Corsair iCUE to bind Alt + [number] key press for my Corsair K95 keyboard G keys to able to press CTRL + [number] and Alt + [number] more easily without needing to look the keyboard to press right CTRL + [number] or Alt + [number] key combination all the time?

If it really means that, then i'm i really in trouble now for using them for while?

How would SE be aware you are using it outside of this post?

Seeing how a streamer was just banned for using add ons, and you are admitting to using add ons on the official forums with an account tied to your character. Yes, all it takes is for people to log in and report you.

You’re reaching deep OP.

99.99% Nobody cares what you are using, and nobody will ever know what you are doing unless you decide to broadcast it to everyone. Even then most people wouldn’t really care.

It is only a problem if it is so blatant that people are reporting you over doing something you shouldn’t with proof you are using something.

SE is not actively hunting down anyone.

When you keep asking “well what about this? Or this? Or this?”, refer to the above and double check:

Are you doing something you shouldn’t be able to do?
AND can people see you do it (Eg teleporting through walls)?
OR are you telling or showing people that you are doing it?

If you answered no to any of that, you are fine.

Technically speaking, because of their overly vague descriptions of what constitutes a third party tool, that is indeed something they could technically ban you for. Now normally I would say they wouldn't, but considering recent events...

This is the reason no company goes out and say openly "yes, we allow all gaming software". There are jus things (from ps1 era) that are concidering cheating, as the good old "turbo" button on some gamepads for old consoles. But overall having gaming mouse and plugins for it is not effecting the game in any way and as far as it is not connected with the game, it is not Third Party Tool.

If you want to use a macro, write it out in the in-game utility then bind it to a key or mouse button. Boom, you've got a completely legitimate and legal macro using only features found in the standard game.
