Is Pyromancer getting a perm ban for having Dalamud?

This is a mess and while unintended, the recent announcement regarding 3rd party tools has allowed for sectors of the playerbase to go witch-hunt content creators they don’t like. It is mind-boggling how seemingly no one in their close circles were able to talk him out of using these mods on stream, especially given Pyro’s temperament and stringent chat rules where it wouldn’t be unheard of for a viewer to feel scorned after the disproportionate punishments for even the mildest of infractions or genuinely innocent comments. Now those of us who aren’t content creators cannot voice support for him or else someone who doesn’t like us will come around and report us for not towing the line, in my case I have no small amount of WoW-lock Summoner players who would probably jump at the chance to get me banned after the months-long arguments I had with them where they ended up being the losing party. I listened to the youtube video linked earlier in the thread but not much in particular stood out to me about it. The guy is a typical Aries/fire sign personality, and no that isn't meant to be read as an insult. No wonder he doesn't mesh well with the "community" which has largely leaned towards more passive and mellow individuals for the last 8 years. This is why I chose to watch people like him on twitch instead of someone like mrhappy, despite my general dislike of how he handles chat.

There is no depth to which some of these players won’t stoop - you have people unironically believing Gshade shouldn’t be allowed because there can be nothing that contradicts the rules no matter how obviously innocuous. From my perspective, last time the community felt as unwelcoming and hostile as this was in that period following the 2019 fanfest when those of us who wanted male Viera back then were called every name in the book for opposing the "official" decision to reintroduce gender-locked races with an objectively more restricted male variant-only for other SE employees who felt similar to us to later on give us male Viera tailored around our shared tastes. There was light at the end of that tunnel at least, and while it did much to soothe all the abuse a lot of us endured back then, I don’t see a fix for the situation some of us and our favorite content creators are facing now. It’s only a matter of time before they go after people like Bellular next, because I’m sure somebody somewhere has taken offense to his use of color shaders. It wouldn't surprise me either if someone went after someone as good natured as Zepla for reasons irrelevant to the game while using some of her previous comments against her.

The only sound advice I can give at this point is to take a break from streaming if you've displayed these mods/addons in the past and pray that you haven't angered anyone of this "community" enough for them to chase you down afterwards. As to the people who have taken it upon themselves to go after these other players, I could encourage them to look in the mirror themselves and ask if they are truly as innocent as they believe themselves to be but it wouldn't be a worthwhile endeavour. These people have convinced themselves that they are justice and that there is no right except their own.

My goodness, I cannot wait for FFXVI to release already so that I can take off for a good long while and immerse myself in a less righteous fandom, because I'm certainly not willing to have morality dictated to me by a bunch of people who retweet fanart of the scions and G'raha Tia all day while preaching about how great they feel after taking someone down for whatever reason they're pushing at the moment.

As someone in their 30s who doesn't watch other people play video games, I would love for some young people to explain to me how watching someone crying like a baby over a game and attacking the audience qualifies as entertainment to them. There's, like, movies, television, playing games, sports, gambling, porn...all kinds of other stuff out there.

This has gotten out of hand in just two days. And I didn't know Pyro was this toxic... Then again looking at the game he came from.... If he gets banned then it's on him. You can't explode on chat and expect them to NOT react.

I can empathize. I can remember when I was younger just not knowing when to walk away from internet arguments because someone was either legitimately dim, or they were messing with me to get a reaction.

You would think Pyro being internet famous, would have somewhat mastered such a skill by now.

Nobody who is a serious person should want Pyro banned for this. This is a an actual person having actual interactions. FFXIV has this weird almost cultish toxic façade of niceness that is really weird. People do not act super wholesome and nice all the time. I would even argue it's not healthy.

I remember some WoW freakout and I know the saying 'how you get em is how you lose em' but still I thought, well..maybe that tantrum about that other game was a one time thing. Well.

Its his behavior toward his audience thats clearly the problem. If you can't handle people disagreeing with you, then why talk about something like that at all? Did he think we're all some giant echo chamber? 'xiv community' this, that...we're all different people. We never agree on anything unanimously. Why would this be any different? Does he think we love streamers that much that we'll happily all agree that they should be able to do whatever they want with 0 regard for what yoshi or any of us even wants? Does he think he's our king or something? Who is he?? Ah, he's the one who had a temper tantrum on his way in and here he is seemingly having another one possibly on his way out. At a certain point, one has to stop and reflect on their outbursts and what truly causes them. In this case, I don't believe for a second that his reaction was all about the bannings. It was a power tripping freakout over people disagreeing with him. He couldnt handle it. He easily told long time subs to just go disappear. And he wants to make a career out of this?

Well. Maybe...streamers. I think now is not the time to force yourselves into positions of being persecuted martyrs. All you have to do is not show mods in your stream. That's all you have to do. No ones asking you for money, no ones doing anything to you. It wont hurt you, you wont die. Just dont put add-on overlays on your streams for a bit. I say dont do it all, but I know they'll truly pretend their entire lives are turned upside down-so just for now, give it some time maybe. You don't actually have to be a victim right now. You can opt out of becoming a victim via simply not streaming with mods on. or if you want to be a victim that badly then fine, I know the attention from it is appealing so I understand, but at the very least as you're lapping up every bit of sympathy you get for your blatant rule breaking, at least be kind to your viewers who are still feeding your ego via at least watching you. Alright. Don't be mean to them. That's cringe.

Nah he has a story of flipping out and trying to erase evidence after, but he's small-time so no one cares that much. I tried to give the whole streamer thing a chance during the Endwalker frenzy, but nah, I pass. I flat out don't get it.

After seeing his most recent stream, I couldn't care less if he gets banned for using mods (or anything else) because I'm not setting foot in his cesspit of a space again and will never know. He needs to see a professional about his anger issues.
