A fair criticism, though some will enviably disagree with you there.

I'm more than willing to engage you on the topic in a balanced manner if you're up for it. I did post a breakdown on my opinions on the matter if you wanna look up and reply to them. I do think it's important to discuss the matter of the 'don't ask don't tell' policy and how it efects both the average player and content creators.

Right now, I'm emotionally divided but personally forced to acknowledge that Streamers and other public figures perhaps are to be held to a higher standard, although I'm not sure what that standard should be. "Don't talk about it." Relies on my previous discussed good faith between the players themselves and the game developers/game masters and we had that. But it unfortunately fostered people edging the rules and poking the bear until we got what we have now.

Are we back down to the point where content creators can't show it at all? There is a grey area we do have to maintain but 'don't talk about it' can be synonymous to 'don't show it' . And most content creators don't use tools so much as cosmetics.

I just don't think there's much to discuss. "Don't talk about it" is the best situation to be in. The alternatives are, they either hire a ton more staff to clamp down on all third party modifications which would be highly controversial and costly to them, or they allow all third party programs like WoW and we end up alienating the entire console base.
This is the ideal middle ground.
I appreciate it affects streamers differently, because they are painting a target on themselves. So yes, they do have to be held to a higher standard. That's not something that's unfairly forced upon them, it's just a fact that they sign up for, in much the same way that they sign up to being publicly judged in every other aspect of their content creation.

Lets bann everyone who uses Discord and stuff like that, its clearly a third party tool that makes things easier and is surly against ToS.

Sometimes i ask myself if people at these forum don't have any other issues and have such a boring life that they are upholding the ToS so much. As long it dosnt affect your game experience people should take a step back and cool down.

Banning someone temporarily generally is good for business on twitch and media sites, so in general banning a streamer for a couple of days is a way to ensure that the rule on third party tools is enforceable by SE while doing as little damage as possible. Truth is SE doesn't want to ban people for using mods, especially the majority of mods that don't really do anything that impact the game or harm other players experiences. What they are against are tools that actively encourage behavior that can cause social problems in the game. Stuff like ACT has to be restricted and or disallowed because actively allowing that system fully was one of the reasons WoW ended up going the way it did. Adult mods are damaging to SE as a company, let alone lewd adventure plates and such, so that makes 100% sense for them to restrict and/or ban players who use those types of mods and publicly share images.

But would SE perma-ban someone for using a mod that changes the font on the screen or improves legibility or adds UI features that improve the flexibility and positioning of existing abilities and cooldowns? They might ban someone for a few days but it seems unlikely they'd want to ban someone for such a minor thing. Not unless they repeatedly advertise the UI modifications or are trying to be an activist.

He was basically trying to imply that its nearly impossible to play the game at high end without plugins or on console, and insisting that practically nobody does Ultimate on console which is just silly. And then he continues banning people who say otherwise.

Don’t know who that is coming from having played WoW my first MMO years and years ago I personally love the FFXIV UI compared to base WoW it was light years ahead and hated having to rely on addons to get basic functionality.

The only thing I would want is a dark theme for the dialogue chat box as the white is way too bright for my eyes. Endwalker has a new chat box for certain npcs and I wish I could use that everywhere.

Well at least his stream is sub only so he shouldn't have so many people poking at him currently.

As someone that plays both on PC and PS5, he sure wasn't winning me to his side by insulting people that play on console. (I strictly played on PS4 until Shb) And I don't dislike the guy, I've enjoyed watching his streams going through the MSQ in the past and follow him on Twitch. But perhaps don't imply that we aren't capable of raiding because we don't have plugins, a high refresh monitor, above 60 fps, etc. I'm working on my 3rd Ultimate right now and I freely switch between PC and PS5 just because playing my PS5 on my couch is cozy.

I think someone else (who's entire post history is about this topic) regaling other people's words in their own scope isn't ever going to be good for the person in question. I'd recommend those interested to watch the stream and weigh in for yourself. I'm not going to condone or condemn the active stream. Pyro's got to stand on his own feet and move forward from this point and see if he can redeem himself in other's eyes. One secession talking about it isn't going to resolve one way or another on people's views of his attitude.

I'm going to wrap up my end of this part as we're past speculation point.
