Imagine thinking using dalmund or act is actually cheating...Neither of those programs are detrimental to the game like bots are, especially the ones that plague the market board.

Imagine trying to argue against the rules and think you're going to make a difference for it. It's a third party tool. Doesn't have to be cheating. The rules say all third party tools are disallowed. Meanwhile we have people trying to find loopholes and make things harder on the devs because they just cannot take accountability for their actions.

You don't get to pick what you think is and isn't detrimental to the game when the rule is a blanket statement that covers every single last one of them in one roof.

It's like when people say "nude mods of this race is okay" but then also say "Nude mods of this particular race is not okay and we should report these people" It's hypocritical cherry picking.
Which is where this all ties together. Quick Launcher it self may not be detrimental but what it does do is enable modifications for things that are detrimental.

Just ask the bots to stream their content. Then 5ch can go to work on the behalf of the STF and SE can take credit for the bans.

They do ban all of those bots periodically, but because they have stated outright that they don't seek to ban people who don't flout the rules in public or talk about doing so where SE can see it, they don't use certain kinds of mod/cheat detection. They don't see (because they aren't looking, unless someone else reports) all of the things you want them to ban (they do see some of them because they can track certain server actions), because if they did, they'd see you, too.

Literally, they are letting you do what you want to, even when it's against the rules, unless you do so brazenly, and all you have to say is, "Well someone else is cheating, so why can't I? Why don't you literally ban everyone I don't like first before you target me. Targeting me is bad because, for some reason, I think I'm a special, innocent rule breaker who shouldn't be banned!" Because, you know, even if they somehow managed to ban all the other people you want banned first, you'd still find an excuse to make for why you shouldn't be.

You know how to not get banned, so it is entirely in your power not to. Take some responsibility for yourself.

They are probably trying. The cruel reality is that there are too many bots for them to keep them all away. Best you can do is get the plugin that blocks out the spam and... oh wait, they don't want you to do that :3

Imagine enabling oneself to read or see something that might normally be unintentionally difficult to read or see under certain circumstances being equivalent to cheating.
By which I mean, a simple UI mod doesn't necessarily have to be "cheating," and, therefore, despite that you might not like the person posting it, their point remains valid even as it adds more fuel to the fire.

i dont think these are the issue though. YP tried a while ago to be gray area with it and people didnt and worse yet, used third party UI mods to show the area of untelegraphed AOEs - that is indeed cheating.

Essentially, if you flaunt it you get banned, if you dont you wont. Im not sure why thats so hard to understand. Bottom line is, mods and third party tools are against TOS. Use em and run the risk.

RMT bans are not player bots. RMT is mostly throwaway accounts that hack and can be detected, but don't care because their purpose is to bot as much gil as possible before each banwave then start over again. It looks good on paper, but even when they ban a few thousand of them, they just come back.

They can't detect player bots. Craft bots, gathering bots, market bots, PvP bots and many combat bots aren't banned because SE can't scan their computers and detect them. They have no power over them and don't even try to address that.

It's pretty sad that while the GMs are allowed to use video clips from outside sources for evidence in bans, they are not allowed to just observe painfully obvious cheaters in-game and ban them on the spot for that; nope, it gets handed off to the borderline useless STF who will just "investigate" with the same flawed methods that have been failing to detect them with any semblance of reliability, then give them a free pass.

Enough backlash will make them change their stance on things. Especially if the reduction in streamers leads to a reduction in player count...something that always goes hand in hand.
