I report all bots I come across.
I dunno why you're trying to compare one type of cheating to another.

Imagine enabling oneself to read or see something that might normally be unintentionally difficult to read or see under certain circumstances being equivalent to cheating.
By which I mean, a simple UI mod doesn't necessarily have to be "cheating," and, therefore, despite that you might not like the person posting it, their point remains valid even as it adds more fuel to the fire.
I have no strong feelings one way or the other about the person posting.Imagine enabling oneself to read or see something that might normally be unintentionally difficult to read or see under certain circumstances being equivalent to cheating.

I'm just here to say it's all against the rules, don't be upset when they're enforced.

i dont think these are the issue though. YP tried a while ago to be gray area with it and people didnt and worse yet, used third party UI mods to show the area of untelegraphed AOEs - that is indeed cheating.Imagine enabling oneself to read or see something that might normally be unintentionally difficult to read or see under certain circumstances being equivalent to cheating.

Essentially, if you flaunt it you get banned, if you dont you wont. Im not sure why thats so hard to understand. Bottom line is, mods and third party tools are against TOS. Use em and run the risk.
One's more severe than the other.
And one's more rampant/disruptive than it.
At this rate, I'm thinking witch hunting's what SE wants us to do against botters that are still somehow still here. Which is in a way of harassment that should also be reported.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRwP6RRJ-uE this person lasted much longer than the DSR runners and likely went into hiding on other characters by now for how most information about them seems to have been purged except someone linking a potential alt.
What a decision to be made.
Severity is irrelevant. Wrong is wrong. A cop isn't going to stop arresting you for stealing something from a store just because Murder is a worse crime. One's more severe than the other.

It's relevant to how this mess was handled as everyone's out running assumptions.
Severity now matters because we have no clue whether it was a damned UI or a callout that has consistently been in streams before DSR and people are still going to be running around streaming with just ACT and be fine.

I constantly see same 2 bots on Phoenix, one is collecting aethersand and unloads it in limsa, second one is almost 24/7 afk near retainer bell in limsa again. This is happening since like EW start (gathering bot has barely enough gear for collecting sand). Might add 3rd bot in Uldah same afk at retainer bell but i havent checked that place much.
They are still not banned. Apparently this is not a problem for GMs. But UI tweaks is.
And don't even try with "bUt ThEy BaN iN wAvEs". Im sure they are used for RMT, damage has been done for how many months?

I think the difference is proof. If a streamer shows their screen with all sorts of addons running that's proof they're using them. If a guy is gathering stuff like clockwork it could be a bot but they could also just be meticulous. They can't just ban people for being weird, they need to have something that counts as evidence.I constantly see same 2 bots on Phoenix, one is collecting aethersand and unloads it in limsa, second one is almost 24/7 afk near retainer bell in limsa again. Or just you need to be less SE whiteknight. /tell to any reported bot -> doesn't response and continues actions on repeat -> put in jail -> gm laughs as bot tries to his stuff -> ban. But this requires actual work, for GMs it's easier to do nothing everyday and only go onto people who are literally witch hunted by coordinated people.I think the difference is proof. If a streamer shows their screen with all sorts of addons running that's proof they're using them. If a guy is gathering stuff like clockwork it could be a bot but it could also be a meticulous autist. They can't just ban people for being weird, they need to have something that counts as evidence.
Also i am taking your "bot that you saw might be a real human" as an insult. It is a bot, i have gatherers at 90, i have saw that bot not only when i gathered different sands before 6.05 but even now when i just go for moonlight one for my needs ... i still see same character with same gear/glam/mount used rotating in same pattern over and over.
And just to add how GMs blatanly doesn't care about botting, like 2-3 months ago there were numerous bots at vendor near limsa bell (iirc it was on Odin and other server). It took like 3 days for these bots to be banned (poor guys had broken script so lazy GMs had to take action).
