Pyros bots....THEY BAN THE RMT BOTS
THE BOZJA BOTS
THE PYROS BOTS
THE UNDERCUTTING BOTS
THE PVP SPEEDHACKING BOTS
THE POTD BOTS
THE SAVAGE ACR BOTS
FIRST
Why is no one talking about them LOL?
Imagine chasing after people with a simple UI mod over all these bots that have plagued the game for a decade.
1B+ per day enters the economy to be RMT and SQE leaves them active for 6+ months at a time and think a single ban wave solves the problem.
Bots are back at it the next day.
I'm not defending SE I'm explaining how they function. Something with direct evidence is going to get acted on. Seeing a guy in the same gear going on the same route is not direct evidence, it's circumstantial. From SE's point of view, the possibility exists that he's not a bot.Or just you need to be less SE whiteknight. /tell to any reported bot -> doesn't response and continues actions on repeat -> put in jail -> gm laughs as bot tries to his stuff -> ban. But this requires actual work, for GMs it's easier to do nothing everyday and only go onto people who are literally witch hunted by coordinated people.
Also i am taking your "bot that you saw might be a real human" as an insult. It is a bot, i have gatherers at 90, i have saw that bot not only when i gathered different sands before 6.05 but even now when i just go for moonlight one for my needs ... i still see same character with same gear/glam/mount used rotating in same pattern over and over.
And just to add how GMs blatanly doesn't care about botting, like 2-3 months ago there were numerous bots at vendor near limsa bell (iirc it was on Odin and other server). It took like 3 days for these bots to be banned (poor guys had broken script so lazy GMs had to take action).
It's also why we have the "rule" that it's ok to use addons as long as you don't say you're doing it in ingame chat.
The sad thing is that it takes a long enough time for the bots to grind through Eureka or grind up their DoH/L jobs that it's not like they'd even need to be banning them that often to stifle their activity.
They're not instantly replaceable like the ARR gil farmers (Who seem to have fallen out of favor lately).
Is 50+ accounts, all walking on the same tiles, using the same mounts, with the same name structure, active 24 hours a day with no downtime.. obvious enough?I'm not defending SE I'm explaining how they function. Something with direct evidence is going to get acted on. Seeing a guy in the same gear going on the same route is not direct evidence, it's circumstantial. From SE's point of view, the possibility exists that he's not a bot.

They dont care.
Gotta go ban streamers instead.
The whataboutism takes are coming in full force today.
And yet you'll have countless people defending SE because apparently the few thousand bans every week is not just them banning the lowest hanging fruits without ever addressing the root cause.
Oh yes:
RMT botting is as much of a cheat as chat bubbles.
PVP speedhacking bots is as much of a cheat as UI mods.
Savage ACR bots, doing your entire rotation for you, is as much of a cheat as buff timers.
Maybe they should target the severe forms of cheating first and leave people who literally don't harm anyone else with their chat bubbles and UI mods alone?
