How about Gil bonuses to Anything that rewards Gil if you're a lvl 50 and don't plan on leveling anything else????

Or double items. Since they wanna use things from FFVII why not add a W-Item Feature when you sleep.
Just be happy SE are giving you any rested exp bonus at all

Is there any actual reason people are getting a pickle up their pucker about this? It seems like a really bizarre thing to get this angsty about.
If you think about it, Rested XP was put in explicitly as a -replacement for- Guardian's Favour since the game was switching to being no longer focused on guildleves as the primary form of content. It's not "begging for easymode" to want to be able to control where your bonus XP goes, like you could control what you spent Guardian's Favour on. Rested XP is a resource, it's theoretically isomorphic to Guardian's Favour, which was also a resource, but due to implementation it's a resource we've got less control over.
Not-so-hypothetical situation: I really don't care to level Miner without the rested XP bonus. My linkshell is going to be doing some XPing tonight, and I'll be bringing my PGL36. I don't really have time or current inclination to do Miner leves to expend my rested XP before we go XPing, so my resource will be expended on a class I'd rather not expend it on.
I don't think anybody in this thread has been even remotely whining or throwing a tantrum about this; I'm not going to cry tears of blood and curse the Twelve if my Pugilist gets some more XP, but I'd much rather be able to conserve the bonus and spend it on Miner in a big chunk of mining sometime this weekend. I fail to see what's unreasonable about this as a feature request. The tenor of the forums may be such that -most- feature requests are ill-thought-out and characterised by whining and unpleasantness, but that does not mean that suggesting a way to make the rested XP bonus more user-friendly and in line with the Guardian's Favour system it is replacing is automagically ill-thought-out and characterised by whining and unpleasantness.
If there are any coherent arguments as to why this would be a bad idea -other than- that they have more important things to worry about pre-2.0 - which I agree with, "this is easy to implement" means nothing when the 1.0 codebase and spec is in play, absolutely nothing is easy to implement, even if it should be by any reasonable stretch of the imagination - I'd love to hear them.
7UP!
It's fine the way it is, stop whining.
I don't think anyone is "whining" (though I'll admit, I didn't read the whole thread), merely requesting. Just to throw another not-so-hypothetical reason in favor of this addition...
My wife doesn't play that much, but when she does, she wants to exp stuff with me. She's obviously sitting on the maximum amount of rested bonus, and in order for me to do the same, I can't spend much/any of mine whilst leveling DoH/L jobs.
I'm not sure why people are fighting in opposition to this... it's not like it would upset the balance of anything.
Note: I'm more in favor of a simple toggle for using up rested exp or not, rather than what the OP proposed.
It is wasted, I dont intend to take some crafts to 50, some I just do up to a repair level or meld level, that is it, or high enough to make a material for another item. Maybe i want the craft 24 and its currently 15. I dont want 9 levels gained through rested. Its a waste to me.
Saves me no time, it is actually slowing me down because I just dont want to waste it things i dont really care about. Why do you care so much anyway? It doesnt affect you, why you care that someone else wants it? You can just turn on toggle, and go living your happy life but instead you want to stick your nose into other peoples gameplay.... As usual.Be happy you're getting a bonus. If you don't want bonus on a job (why the hell wouldn't you), then don't play that job. People call me a naysayer, but really, this is one of the dumbest ideas i've ever heard. Just use the bonus up on what you want to use it on.
I don't care if you could add it by staring at the screen and blinking. It's not needed. A lot of people end up being in bonus all the time because they don't EXP all the time, so it's not like they're going to run out if they -GASP!- get EXTRA EXP on a job that isn't their priority!
It saves you time no matter what job gets it. Thus it's silly and pointless.
Leves are insanely slow, 6k each is slow, its like 20k/hour. I am way to busy to be doing this, I am casual at the finest and have to factor in LS events. Rested is for the Casual, as its gained by not playing! Why not just change to your class you want to level to 50, make some level 40 leve until your rested exp is empty if you don't find a exp party instead of just sitting around in town. Exp is exp and after this you can change to a crafting class.
And no, i don't think 6k exp each leve is slow.
If I go do leves, I loose out on EXP PT's because no one uses the Search System so I have to listen on the shouts and there is no global chat, I would rather try get a SB PT or something than rough it out on leves...
I am almost finished with DoW/DoM with a mere few levels to go, so this feature would have no affect on me in a couple levels, that doesnt mean should dismiss it and say its stupid.
If you dont like it, it isnt even going to affect you, toggle it on, and everything is how it is now.
At least with Guardians Favour, it was stored up and could be used when you wanted it to be used, not the moment you start killing. You could turn it on when you needed it.
I understand the pros/cons for both, before you couldnt get it on crafting, it wasnt very good and only worked in leves, so thats price to pay for having it when you want.
It was just a suggestion by by OP, and some people like it. (Others completely didnt get the idea lol but oh well!) and some of you dont like it, for whatever reason. (As the reason seems to be so far: Play all your classes, level everything you have hours and hours of ur day free!)

Wouldnt be a very good idea to turn it into direct exp. Someone could just quit the game for a year and come back to maxed jobs.
