Because a warning isn't going to act as a deterrent so SE has to go stronger with a 10 day ban. They've been warning people for years. But streamers and content creators especially in the past year or two have been egregiously thumbing their nose openly at SE's rules. SE's policy of not being heavy handed has been a good compromise but with people constantly questioning why streamers got allowed with openly using these tools, they forced SE into a heavier handed position. People are still going to use these tools and SE knows it. But hopefully they will go back to being more discreet so SE and the player base can go back to the ceasefire they had about the issue.

The argument OP is making is one about MAGNITUDE and SEVERITY. Not an argument about whether they should be sanctioned in the first place.

Only a few have make an argument about why higher severity is appropriate. The rest... I am legitimately disdainful at the alarming lack of intelligence in this community.

Therefore, if you are seen with them, you are at risk of being banned.

I just like the irony I see on twitter of ppl saying don't cheat don't use mods but have modded their characters in game in their profile pic and timeline.
Some of the plugins people use, like arthars discussed on his stream, can allow things otherwise impossible like triple weaving etc and yeah that is 100% cheating. But modding your ui and other innocent things like.. it just gives the player using them some more clarity. If you mod your cat boi don't try and clap at people modding their ui rofl.

you have to agree to the terms of service to play the game so if they weren't aware of the rules, that's on them. Doesn't matter how new they are.

Wouldn't a 10-day ban and a 1-day ban send the same message? I'm sure both bans will ripple through the community because the shock of being pulled into a GM jail on stream is the same regardless of whether it's a 1-day or a 10-day.
