It just sounds like you're making excuses "Oh dont pull them out yet, they're in the middle of using this bannable add-on to do this fight". Like I said, you knew the risks involved and you only have yourself to blame for whenever a gm catches you using those tools on stream. It doesnt matter if they're progging or not.
i agree with you on this. but i guarantee those being suspended atm are not just using ACT, there are other thing they are looking for specifically. But yoshi p has said before that using DPS meters just amount to eventual toxicity that he doesnt want. Even Desperius has brought up that using ACT in his streams is a risk and he is always careful, but will still continue to use it until he is either banned for it specifically or sent to jailed and warned for it. i Digress tho, we will see alot of negetive feedback more so then positive on the situation as a whole until we receive another post on the lodestone.I don't agree with this takeaway on things like ACT. I'll not fight on UI mods currently (though I think banning someone for using a feature you plan to implement is wrong in a different way). I think that SE specifically made statements alluding to it being basically ok to use as long as you don't harass people. Especially when ACT has been on streams, vods, youtube, for years now with basically no enforcement. Also keep in mind my point that 99% of players would disable things with a simple warning. So what is gained by banning instead? And yes, even warning other large players would get the word around just as well.
A 10-day ban is a warning. A warning that next time you break the rules it could be a perma-ban.
They knew what they were getting into. To be sure they cannot give a warning and detect they are not using addons. This means giving a warning such as remove your addons or you will be suspended doesn’t work.
Because we have been warned a bazillion times before. So yeah, we have actually been warned.
Now something has happened and everyone loses their mind. What did they expect? If only, I thought it would be a permaban. Honestly, I'm happy it isn't and I consider the 10-day ban to be the actual warning because, apparently, ToS and Yoshi-P interviews are not enough for people for some weird reason.
That it isn't permanent terminations of service accounts handed out is a warning.
SE being kinda lenient on people using plugins and keeping it to themselves doesn't mean the stance has suddenly changed on what consequences you're risking for bringing it more publicly.
People getting banned because of mass reports abuse and im sure they are lying in their reports. Those people should get 10 day ban too.
Can you highlight the part of your response that answers my question or are you talking to someone you're not quoting? The question was: "what is gained from banning over in-game warning?" Third time asking you.It just sounds like you're making excuses "Oh dont pull them out yet, they're in the middle of using this bannable add-on to do this fight". Like I said, you knew the risks involved and you only have yourself to blame for whenever a gm catches you using those tools on stream. It doesnt matter if they're progging or not.
Yeah it just seems like going one step off nuclear for no real reason other than to be heavy handed to prove a point? But that point would be proved just as well with warnings. Also the statements in the past are very celarly "just dont harass and we wont do anything." And its been the precedent observed for years. People got banned for harassing based off dps, stopped harassing but kept ACT up, and yet here we are today ACT is enough to get you banned now with no prior warnings on your account.i agree with you on this. but i guarantee those being suspended atm are not just using ACT, there are other thing they are looking for specifically.
