You're still missing the point. My question is what is gained from banning over in-game warning? I specifically said it's in their rights.
It just sounds like you're making excuses "Oh dont pull them out yet, they're in the middle of using this bannable add-on to do this fight". Like I said, you knew the risks involved and you only have yourself to blame for whenever a gm catches you using those tools on stream. It doesnt matter if they're progging or not.
Can you highlight the part of your response that answers my question or are you talking to someone you're not quoting? The question was: "what is gained from banning over in-game warning?" Third time asking you.It just sounds like you're making excuses "Oh dont pull them out yet, they're in the middle of using this bannable add-on to do this fight". Like I said, you knew the risks involved and you only have yourself to blame for whenever a gm catches you using those tools on stream. It doesnt matter if they're progging or not.

"But you knew the risk" Shut up, your precious leader Yoshida has taken a neutral stance on this matter for far too long to act like he's got a spine now.
And people chose to keep pushing it until action had to be taken. So if you want to blame anyone blame the people that felt the need to keep pushing further to see what they could get away with.
I don't blame them at all when SE turns around and decides to add the very thing they banned the person for. If it's a banable offence then why are you adding it to the game?
I assume it’s because if there was just a warning without a punishment, then other people who use mods that provide gameplay or HUD advantages (not cosmetic tweaks that don’t affect the gameplay like adding missing Hrothgar hat support, which I hope Square Enix would focus on) would just keep doing it until they hit that harmless warning; this sends a stronger message. That said, ten days does feel kind of high for an initial punishment.
