FF14 Twitch numbers suck for a reason

It is not bad SE used to ban hammer every streamer (same level with Nintendo) with no apparent reason..

I don't know what direction they are going this time and I don't care I am not streaming, I watch a few streamers but they rarely play FFXIV for various reasons.
If SE want to harm themself again with ban hammer it is their problem :3

The FFXIV streamers I watch for entertainment aren't using mods.

How many are using GShade? That interferes with the UI given this ridiculous broad definition they are using right now. There is no specific list so you have no way of telling me welllllll you see GShade is super different yada yada and this or that reason.

For same reason watching / listening random person on TV / radio, entertainment. Game they play usually not important.

Though personally since as I do imagine one of the more common ways people use addons is XIVLauncher's Dalamud, It probably wouldn't be too hard for them to look through their limited list of addons and for them to consider making a simple listing of what addons are allowed, everything else not on said list would be prohibited.

There are definitely things in there that fall under the category of "Use of tools that allow players to more easily complete content."

But on the other hand, there are other completely nefarious things like adding concept art to loading screens instead of having just a black screen.

Twitch numbers suck because it's an MMO, and because the games population plays the game, not watches people streaming it.


The only streams I've watched are my friends during prog.

I love the copium people have when an aspect of the game clearly sucks lol. The game is simply not fun to watch.

This reminds me of the time the steam deck released and Gabe Newell gave them an endorsement for free I am pretty sure. He just enjoyed the game with his son and said it was fun. Right as the steam deck was released they pushed the update that broke the log in for steam users, and people were saying the steam deck is 'bad' and unsecure and all those russian hackers who only use linux will take over the game. buzz word buzz word using even the smallest add on that just increases the size of toast text and cooldowns on a hot bar will allow for those people a direct trip to satan himself.

Everytime recently at least final fantasy gets any increase in views or attention they do something financially suicidal. This time if you find the numbers for active players somewhere, as well as twitch viewer ship for when Ultimate dropped it spiked. Which would mean more people might want to come back and subscribe after seeing someone really digging into the hard end content. Some people I know like to watch prog streams while sitting with their characters in game and speak over discord having a good time. This is free PR and people will be more active as a result. What they did, go on a ban wave and find people on twitch to ban while they are in the middle of progging.

If I wasn't invested and seen that, I would have wondered what was wrong with that mmo, and never look back. Allowing people to mass report someone popular on any platform and call people out who have even the smallest of graphical modification. It just looks bad. I would think that game will just ban me if an entire fc of people who are just trolls could find people they just don't like the look of in game and get what they want by mass reporting. They will wait until you say something that could be misinterpreted or like has been done before to sprouts banned for spamming chat because they don't know you can hide emotes and are just testing them out at the very beginning when creating a character. I had to warn people getting into this game about disabling the chat dump emotes could create. People will look for reasons to be jerks and this is another one.

I don't even want to get into how dumb that material usage license sounds. It is like when google was trying to claim ever google document as their own property. They had to get rid of that clause I don't know if I saved it, but I remember not wanting to write anything for fear of them claiming copyright on my own works. I think deviant art was doing that as well unsure if they still are.

This will further kill the category on Twitch as it is obvious streamers are being targeted. Constantly stepping around this issue and not making a list of approved addons and unapproved ones is causing a large amount of confusing in your community.

I can't see what should be confusing here. There doesn't need to be a list, because every addon is against the ToS.
