    Yeah, they're misremembering some factoids about Discords history.

    Discord was developed by an FFXIV player who also made Guildwork, which is an app very similar to XivApp. I assume that's where the confusion is from. Discord was created as a disposable voicechat, borne from frustration with trying to communicate in raids on 14.
