I didn't see any insinuation that you were doing anything wrong, and it's a sound suggestion.

Part of decent fault finding is to make sure all your drivers are up to date, and that any program which could potentially interfere is uninstalled or disabled. Even if you are 100% sure-in-your-heart that it's not the cause.

While it probably won't make a skerrick of difference, the chance that it will work is non-zero. So, no harm in updating your drivers and uninstalling anything that potentially touches FFXIV.

I'd even go as far as looking through your startup applications and services to make sure there is nothing in the way of non-standard overlays. Manually do a windows update, and also check you have no ad-blocks or similar add-ons for the Microsoft browsers.

You obviously don't know how ACT works. It does not interact with a game that it isn't configured to interact with. You're doing the equivalent of asking me to uninstall Microsoft Office to fix a problem with FFXIV.
ACT is used in about half a dozen games that AREN'T FFXIV, and without the plugin for this game, it has no means to interact with it in any way.

But hey, I uninstalled them, guess what, didn't do anything. Imagine that.
Got any other sage advice? Maybe I should reinstall windows next because running SFC DISM wasn't far enough?
