I didn't see any insinuation that you were doing anything wrong, and it's a sound suggestion.

Part of decent fault finding is to make sure all your drivers are up to date, and that any program which could potentially interfere is uninstalled or disabled. Even if you are 100% sure-in-your-heart that it's not the cause.

While it probably won't make a skerrick of difference, the chance that it will work is non-zero. So, no harm in updating your drivers and uninstalling anything that potentially touches FFXIV.

I'd even go as far as looking through your startup applications and services to make sure there is nothing in the way of non-standard overlays. Manually do a windows update, and also check you have no ad-blocks or similar add-ons for the Microsoft browsers.
