Cheating in pvp.

Since yoshi-p went and talked about plugins and third party programs, this spurred me to start this thread about people that cheat in pvp. I had many instances where players do alot of inhumane things at the high end of diamond/crystal rank. So now I'm kinda curious how rampant it is.

For those that don't know there is people that cheat in ways that follow.

Auto lb when an enemy is at a low enough health, perfect for classes that do alot of damage in one go, Tools that tell you who is looking or targeting you. Speed hacks, etc.

I'm fairly satisfied with the rank I'm in so I just don't care about climbing any further or getting the bragging rights, but it's awfully annoying to play and grind and then deal with players that play way too inhumanely or actually blatantly cheating. What situations did you guys get where you clearly noticed "that guy is kinda playing a bit suspiciously" sorta scenario?

Yes agreed. I don’t go into ranked anymore. I only do casual now and enjoy pvp that way. Hopefully overtime SE will balance the jobs better and crack down heavily on the cheats and plug-ins.

I've used scatter shot and enemies don't get knocked back, been hexed on LB, been chain cc godly fast right after purify. I've also seen people with perma sprint, the UI shows if sprint is on and even during combat their sprint never goes off.

I had instances like that too when i play mch.

I'd say my weirdest suspicious interaction is when white mage lb'd and it was nowhere in my direction and for some reason it hit me while i was not even close to the combat nor in range of the white mage lb

I was across the map one game behind a wall went to get my MP back and mid cast was one shot, nothing around me at all. A ninja killed me and wasn't even close to where I was.

My favorite is when you crush the first encounter or two and all of a sudden the other team does a complete 180 without using any LBs and your team gets 0 kills the rest of the match. Like some people try to win "legit" before they have to run and hide behind their hacks to win.

I've noticed having my LB completely blocked at the exact moment I press the button.

This thread is some paranoia copium. LB cancelling is about the only thing that actually sounds like an instance of cheating.

This happens regularly and not due to cheats.
A number of things can cause a good head start on a team that ended up being weaker overall. It could be that someone on the losing side stepped up to start shot calling. It could be that the limit breaks on the losing team lined up a lot better.
I personally end up being the first death almost always because waiting around behind a wall for 30 seconds isn't fun. So I zoom into the enemy ranks just to get things moving. I don't obviously try to die, but I accept that it's the usual outcome. But at least people start combating. Such a death can usually put the enemy team at a starting advantage but honestly I play BLM in PvP so on respawn I am on the backlines where I should have been anyway, and while not always, usually turn it around for victory.

There is a countless number of things that can cause a turnaround like you describe and I don't think my teammates suddenly start cheating.
That isn't to say that cheaters don't exist. They should all be banned imo.

It's a well known WHM exploit and heavily abused in ranked. Some accidental, but it's so common now that the benefit of the doubt is out of the window.
