I want it so I can just see people talking instead of actively sifting through chat tabs. Seeing a friend use the plug in version of this makes me sad because it is really helpful especially in dungeons. You don't need to look at chat at all to see if someone is speaking even in say chat if they don't know party chat exists, it is a simple thing but is super useful. For role play it could also be a nice touch being there are limited amounts of chat windows you could just read what everyone is writing above their heads. There is also the finding the person who just spoke near you in town so you can see where they are instead of walking around hitting target on their name or pestering them in chat as to where they are currently. Just small little things I could see being extremely useful.
Sorry for the late reply, just saw this quote.
Basically, if I wanted to interact with other people solely through a scrolling chat window, I'd go on IRCs or discord or whatever.
A good ui, to me, is one that makes my interaction with the game-world more intuitive and natural, not one that pulls me out and separates me from it.
And that's chat bubbles+chat box vs JUST a chat box for me.
Talking with people has a directional component to it, having just a list of things said doesn't feel like I'm interacting with the other players' characters since it's completely divorced from who is talking and the actions they are making when they speak, and with strangers, it makes it hard to tell who's talking and putting the situational context to what they're saying (Think, someone saying "come here" in the middle of a fight to help you find a safe spot) It's why trust members have speech bubbles when they say things instead of just listing their thoughts in the chat box alone, and why ambient npcs have them too, it makes them feel more alive.
~sigh~
Gimme them speech bubbles!
Chat Bubbles and party buff/debuff durations seem to be the big ones. I'll also cast my support for them.
Maybe not necessarily a UI improvement but something another plugin does that helps a lot is one that condenses combo chains into one button like how the pvp combo chain skills work. This single handedly fixes button bloat without removing any skills or depth from the jobs.
Drg has two 3 button ST combos and a 3 button aoe combo, Sam has two 3 button ST combos, a 2 button ST combo, and two 2 button aoe combos. So many keybinds dedicated to just combos when each individual combo should only occupy 1 button slot since you never use combo skills out of order.
Just seems weird to me how pvp keeps your combo skills on button and pvp doesnt even really need it since you only have access to maybe a quarter of the skills you do in pve, where pve does not have it and thats where it's most sorely needed.
I'd like to see a countdown timer that starts ticking from the second the countdown is started and is accurate to the tenth of a second so paladin players can precast FoF and casters can precast a damage gcd without early pulling. Also would probably be helpful for other classes that I don't play. It is weird to have openers that want you to precast an ogcd at -12 or -18 seconds and not have the game tell you when that is.
PVP Combos except for PvE.
Admit button bloat is a problem already pls
yeah. button bloat is easily fixable with the pvp combo system without removing any depth from classes.'
consolidation of skills that just make sense helps as well. they already started moving that way with certain skills, for dragoon, mirage dive replacing high jump for example. it just makes sense for it to replace it.
It would have to be optional per class choice simular to how the mod shows it where you can turn it on for certain classes and leave it off for others without changing the setting each time.yeah. button bloat is easily fixable with the pvp combo system without removing any depth from classes.'

I've had plenty of fights where my healer died and I'm spamming 1-2 as a GNB to keep my health an shield going
