I use a XBOX One controller on my pc, i've tried it both wired and wireless and this happens somewhat frequently. I've seen community made fixes for this issue which seem to work, so i would love to see them integrated into the Game.

I've had similar issues. I assumed it was my controller, bought a new one and had the same issue with the new one.
Seems very sporadic thought, not sure what triggers it.

Through my research on the internet, i've found that players are very aware of this bug and what causes it and it seems to be down to how the game is coded, though as it doesn't seem hard to fix in theory. Let's just hope because i love playing this game with a controller and don't wanna go back.
FFXIV has a problem on that whenever Windows (not sure about consoles) detects "any" device changes then your controller will stop responding for 2 seconds, instead of merely checking if the number of controllers changed or not. I also have this issue on my laptop, but not my desktop.
Not something you want happening while in a duty.
Try moving in FFXIV with a controller and then plug/unplug something in USB at the same time and you'll feel it. It'll still happen even if you don't hear a device connection noise.

Greetings fellow Eorzean,
We apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Please provide the following information:
- Windows OS Version
- Make/Model of Controller (Is this an official Microsoft one or a third party?)
- Does the issue happen during a specific area in game or when a certain action is performed?
- Do you have any firewalls or anti-virus software installed on the machine if are using a Mac or Windows PC? If so, which ones do you have installed?
- Does any specific error message/code occur when the issue happens?
- Have you tried using another controller or USB port to see if the same issue occurs?
We look forward to your reply back.
