We believe that people use the aforementioned tools to expand the HUD and display more information because they feel that existing functions are insufficient for tackling high-end duties. In recognition of this, we intend to review the most prominent tools, and in order to discourage their use, endeavor to enhance the functionality of the HUD. Though it will take some time, we're determined to make it happen ─ not least for the benefit of those who play on consoles.

Please look into other sections as well! Specially in the housing department. There is tools out there allowing for placement of furniture in the air, and while I do not promote third party tools, I do wish this was a basic housing feature. Glitching is so commonplace these days they might as well make things easier for everyone.

I can attest to that.
Once, I went in as AST, as I usually do, and I pressed buttons. It felt dirty, but also, I felt so good doing it that it became almost addictive. I soon felt myself pushing buttons more and more, and then, before I knew it... the deed had been done.
The buttons were pushed and victory was achieved. It was almost euphoric.
I, Aylin Bielawska, an Astrologian on the Adamantoise server, pressed buttons in direct defiance of the healer design in FFXIV's general design modus operandi, and, in doing so, have seen relative success and reaped benefits. And I liked it.
And I would do it again, too.

I feel that so much. Act and cactbot are not just advantages but are crutches and unfair on console players. If you can't do ex/savage/ult without these tools then you are not good enough to be doing the content. I noticed immediately when cactbot broke after a patch once who in the static were using it because they kept messing up mechanics

Do what us ps4 players do and learn mechanics. It will be better for you.

Cactbot is built on top of ACT. They're related to each other

I am convinced now people are just nitpicking at whatever floats their boat just because all the other fools are doing it. Like how is ACT cheating? /SMH. Not talking about you Skiros but the guy you replied to.

It's the framework that the tools people are up in arms about are built on, also has been the subject of discussion because of the toxicity it generates when used incorrectly and to shame players.
You cannot get rid of cactbot, or any of these other trigger and callout addons without also banning ACT.

Their stance makes player culture so much more tolerable in this game. Playing WoW all but required add-ons so people could track how bad you were in their eyes and keep you out of whatever content was out. Having read these forums for a bit, I can guarantee if they were any softer on it half of you'd be making the game misery for the other half.
