Seriously what good does it do? 95% of all fish have no purpose and isn't used for anything or anyone. It's only purpose is fodder for Culn. desynth, of which gets you nothing but sand so what is really the point of Culn even being able to desynth in the first place?

Just annoying to do the fishing quests to get bait you'll never use again, to go fish in an area you'll never fish in again, to catch a fish that's entire purpose of being in the game is to be a requirement for a quest.

So just call it a limited job already and remove the crap. That's all it is, the original limited job. No good for anything relevant and not used for anything of any worth at all and just for completetionist sake. At least Blue Mage has a giant warning on it saying "NOT A REAL JOB!! DO NOT GET HOPES UP USEFUL FOR NOTHING".

Fishing gives you the false illusion that's a real job.

Except the aethersands that you can get with it that are used in all relevant crafting recipes for gear. Or the fish that is used in CUL recipes for buff food. Then there's the fact that we have fish tanks, and fish portraits, as well as gear that can come from desynthing, some of which sells for a rather hefty profit. Fishers make extremely good gil, especially when so many people see it as useless because they've not bothered to look at it.

I've actually played with folks who love fishing and they do that in their down time. It's a great little thing to do if you just wanna hang out with friends and just do something. People genuinely enjoy the job. I don't believe that warrants for it to be a 'limited job'. It's just fishing...
