Most Hated XIV Character

Giott's a dwarf. Totally different. :P Unironically very good character, though.

Dwarves like Giott really are just lalafell in stupid helmets though no matter how you look at it - same race but a totally different culture/society.

But then I guess SE did the same thing with the elezen being called 'elves' in the First too, but they at least had virtually zero difference culturally between the Source and the First (and weren't wearing silly masks!).

I used think my least favorite characters were Curious Gorge and Digiorno... until I did the Endwalker crafter relic quests with Mowen and Grenoldt. The only way those quests would have been good is if a Sin Eater showed up and devoured both of them.

Both sets are such a bizzare choice of hate I have to ask why

I’m a devout Y’shtola hater. There aren’t many characters I genuinely hate in video games but Shtola is one of them.

The only good thing that happened was her being rolled up in the blanket like a blunt, that was the one time she made me laugh

Will never understand why people find her a good character or even simp when all she does is being a plot device that was needed at the correct time, for multiple times across the expansions. The void arc is the worst offender imo.

Faking death and coming back for the n-th time doesn't help either.

Some of it appears to stem from the "Little Sun" scene. Which I, personally, didn't really find amusing - but it seems to be a very popular moment in the MSQ for most players.

I thought it was funny, but then I'm not a fan of Magnai either. Not to the point of hating him like some others mind you, but I didn't really miss once him once his time in the MSQ was over after getting burned.

Though it also goes to show the problem with NPCs in general with this game going by the topic, because for every person that wants certain ones long-gone (or dead), there's other people who love them or they're at least neutral towards them, so Square-Enix can't seem to win no matter who they keep or get rid of.

Generally the scions are more walking anime tropes than actual human characters.

I hated Curious Gorge from the very first WAR quest and the Mowen/Grenoldt romance was so cringe-inducing I could barely get through the relic.

She was saying she's not interested in Au Ra because they're "too small". The jokes humor is ironically inspired. Hang around balmung as a Miqo'te for 10 minutes and you'll get several dozen DM's saying "Hi how are you? " and it's from a male xaela player whose either a Warrior or a Dark Knight. They were making fun of people through Magnai being a creep.
