    Materia Disaster

    I thought I'd seen a thing or two vis-à-vis melding misadventure, but the other day this happened:

    Check the bottom right for the tiny printout.. a 7% Meld Chance failed 119 times in a row. Yeah. I'm not so hot at numbers, but I make that to be about 1 time in 5630 tries, such a thing will happen:

    ---------------- (( log .93) x 119)
    Reciprocal of 10

    Anyone better at math, feel free to make repairs. Anyway, thought I'd share this teapot tempest.. I never expected to see it this bad. Note the dashes are there to force the power to appear in the expected location..

    If it helps you feel any better, when I was pentamelding my crafter gear, I had every slot filled save the final one on one ring. I burned through 104 materia on that. I was about to go scrip-grind to get more, when my friend said I could use her last four of that type. She also said "Let me meld it. I'm a viera; bunny luck will win out!"

    She melded it successfully, using only 2 of those 4 materia.

    I did joke it would probably save me time (and gil) to just fantasia to viera next time I need to overmeld, and then fantasia back when done...
