FFXIV x NieR Reincarnation Crossover

I can understand the need for more glam but honestly I hope that if it comes it would just be a simple NPC that sells it for a bit. I had enough of Nier with the 24 man raid...this was much more than other crossovers ever got and it took away a possible lore rich first shard story...all for a story that imo was just purely fanservice and made not much sense to me. I honestly started to wonder where that genius went that the creator of Nier seemingly had...

At the end no other crossover had that much work put behind it and now including even more from that would just feel bad to me. There are many more crossovers that I would have liked instead (including Kingdom Hearts) of just another Nier. Especially after that utterly disappointing raid story.

If it's a small crossover event, like the FFXV or FFXI events, I'm down for it. Just don't take over a big chunk of content again.

Eh, the storyline included an existential threat, which is common enough for final fantasy games and well jrpg's.

Same. To me it seems like some people here are just salty because of the alliance raid and now they don't want anything that says Nier on it in any capacity, regardless of how good it might be. They literally might even like it and they're still biased against it. Real shame.

My theory on why the 24 man raid was so bad is that he didn't want to do it at all, but had to due to his contract with SE, so he just threw something together and called it a day. Because not only was it downright horrible when it came to it fitting into xiv, but it was just a bad story overall, which is something he is not really known for.

Lots of people in this thread make no difference between Nier Automata and Nier Reincarnation. Their aesthetics are in fact, quite different. Not only that, but nobody said it has to be an alliance raid - it would work perfectly as a Garo styled collab.

Replicant is also a good fit for a crossover event. Yeah, no crossover event has been stated with this game, but there should be, or at least added to the mix if there was one. It has some really good glam in it.

If it is something like the current crossover event with FFXI or FFXV, or a mogstation thing, sure, why not. Those are optional, so the people who like it, can do it, the others can avoid it. But considering we already had a whole alliance raid series with another part of the NieR series, I'd rather see crossovers or references with other games for a change. Apart from one dungeon boss and some mogstation glam and minions we never really got a reference to FFX, although this is considered one of the more popular ones. Kingdom hearts would also be nice, (though I guess the Ascians could be seen as a reference to the Nobody council thing, their club room and dress code certainly looked similar. ) And I'm sure there are plenty of other SE titles that they haven't sold off yet and could use some love.

Personally I dislike the NieR raids because I felt like it didn't really make sense if you haven't played NieR - which is ok, it's fan content for NieR players and an ad after all - and I despise purposefully open endings like in the weekly post-raid questline. But my personal opinion is just that, it doesn't determine if content is good or bad if it's just not to my liking. Many people loved it.
