How do you find the JP player's sentiments on things

I often hear the "SE mainly cares about the JP audience/playerbase" in terms of design direction and balancing.

Which leads to my question, how do you find what JP players care about or have issues with if you are not Japanese?

Are there any twitters/players/sites that track dominant JP player opinions on subjects?

Like for example how has the JP playerbase reacted to the removal of kaiten for Samurai? How do they feel about casual solo content? etc

JP forums + Papago or whatever translation app you want to use. Just a quick browse of topics on the front page shows that it's pretty different to ours. It seems pretty peaceful there, no hate filled thread topics.

Also, no where near as active.

From what I can see they're concerned with: pvp, viera/hroth stuff, retainers and getting old items once available for them back out for purchase. There's also a cute one for Yoshi's birthday.

I'd very much like to know where on 2ch/futaba they discuss FFXIV, as I just can't find it on any of the game-related boards... in addition, there is the textboard, 5chan, which has an FFXIV-dedicated board. They can be remarkably blunt on there. Other than that, it seems scattered, with some on twitter, some on discord, and so on.

Without stigmatizing Japan, for the most part their culture solely avoids saying any criticism or see mistakes as a huge taboo & forbidden to mention due to “insulting the honor/bushido system”,

Again not speaking ill of Japan & this post just brought my attention

Interesting thing with all this 3rd party stuff clogging up the General Discussions here in NA - talking to my JPN frirnds and family and looking at the JPN General, one would almost think the whole big deal is a big deal for NA only >.> also, it is true we don't openly criticize devs or such in public. Also pretty true that most JPN would never complain about having to follow rules as society as a whole is really really focused on following rules and presenting the proper face.

Frankly regarding mods its far subjective & while I am not acquainted at all with its systems (if anything I’ve been very wary about them!) I cannot deny either that a lesser punishment of a notification of some sort could’ve been handed out (depending the severity of course & varying the degree of individuals using them be it for guide or just cheating which is bad).

I am on Ps4 so truly I don’t know any better other than analyze the reactions over the forums.

On one way, mods/addins for parse dps meter etc., it’s absurd & shouldn’t be a thing as any other mod that otherwise seeks to alter the system in any other way,

While also the punishment appeared to be far absolute & raised a degree of concerns,

I am just neutral about it & hope some players reflect on this as well for the greater good
