the new definition of Fun right here
What you, I and others enjoy varies. But, if players do not enjoy a certain part of the game? and the Dev's asked for feedback? no reason to shut that down. Here's some food for thought...
Fun doesn't equal -> Good Job design
Good Job design does equal -> more Fun then Bad Job design
Not rocket science... yet people can't grasp this.
If players only enjoy the icing off the cake, how can you criqitue the rest who enjoy the rest of the cake? The flaws of the rest of it will go unnoticed, at that point it requires... experienced pallets if you will. Then suddenly we're going deeper on what players enjoy.
Playing Samurai isn't just mindlessly flailing your sword, 1-handedly bashing buttons while watching netflix. Heck I can do that in large chunks of the MSQ spamming Hakaze and Hakaze only. Basing the enjoyment of Balance around this? makes zero sense since the Job design isn't pushed to its limits for this content to challenge it's balancing for fun.
If players keep discrediting experienced players, on why their job isn't fun? It most likely means they probably have not engaged in high-end content nor do they care not to. Or they do not care about the Job depth at all. If you have fun that way, great. But invalidating the other opinions simply cause you are having fun? How much of a suck up do you have to be? I don't go to Google Search everyday and make sure I mail Google how much of their ass I have to kiss.
- FFXIV is great yes
- Sam is fun sure
- Sam was better
- Sam can be better
- Sam is now worse
- Dev's asked for feedback
- We are giving it
It's that simple
