    Consolidate Dancer's Newest Skills

    Hopefully I am not the only DNC who has thought this. But, I do find it just a little strange that given all of the piggy-backing skills we have seen across so many jobs now, and the fact that DNC already does it with 2, Technical Step and Tillana; it is strange that Fan Dance IV and Starfall Dance exist as their own individual skills and don't piggy-back off of Flourish and Devilment, respectively. These skills do not become available until Flourish or Devilment are activated. And the cooldowns for Flourish and Devilment are much longer than the duration that Fan Dance IV and Starfall Dance are available to use, I think it just makes sense for them to change to these skills automatically, just like so many others now in this game.

    When these skills were introduced, I had to rearrange my hotbars in a way that I wasn't too thrilled with, because I ended up having to move my En Avant in order to make way for Flourish, Devilment, Fan Dance IV, and Starfall Dance to be on my hotbars in a way that made sense for my gameplay. If these skills were consolidated then my En Avant could go back to where I prefer it to be.

    Does this make sense to anyone else? Or would this just cater to how I play? Let me know what you all think!

    Agreed - I'm not a fan of all the new abilities just being follow-ups for long cooldowns, but if that's what they're going to be, might as well just make the buttons evolve.

    The new skills should definitely be a transition from Devilment and Flourish. It just makes too much sense.

    There are a ton of DPS jobs in 6.0 that suffer from "we have to add something but the rotation is already perfected, so let's just tack on another finisher button press". For DNC it's really noticeable too because there's really no reason why they need to be separate buttons, or even a second key press. They could just upgrade Flourish and Devilment to do damage on the fly.

    Dragoon and Red Mage feel like they are at full capacity for finisher nonsense too. I know you can't transform the rotation in an awesome way every job every 10 levels (like say PLD in 6.0), and the players themselves, especially this forum, are probably also at fault for not accepting upgraded, utility and situational skills (even the dreaded downtime abilities) as expansion-worthy additions.

    Don't ask them to change something. They will change the thing nobody asked for and not address the real issues. I'm definitely not a salty Samurai player

    I feel like this is a joke from SE at this point, so much push for "something is ready" type of abilities that is real dead weight on your hotbar for every 2 minutes.

    It's kinda surprising that they did tech step changing into another skill yet they miss it with other dancer skills....

    This. Both Flourish and Devilment could upgrade to Fan Dance IV and Starfall Dance respectively via trait at the level we acquire them now. Then they just do the damage along with the animation and the current effects granted in their previous forms. There would be a little potency loss on Starfall dance, but they could either adjust this potency to compensate, or just ignore it completely.

    However, due to what happened to SAM, I worry about them resolving any button bloat with DNC, and I'm over here saying, "It's good! It's good! It's good! No problems here sir!"

    How would you all feel about having our combo chain extended and having our procs be button evolutions instead of separate buttons?

    Right now the chain is just 1, 2 repeating until you get a proc.

    Let's say you proc Cascade and only Cascade, enabling Reverse Cascade, then your chain becomes 1, 3, 2 or 1, 2, 3, depending on if you consume procs immediately or at the end of the chain.

    If our chain was extended and procs were handled via button evolution, our base could be 1, 2, 3, 4 repeating until you get a proc. (using the same amount of buttons as we currently do - no button bloat)

    Let's say you proc Cascade and only Cascade, enabling Reverse Cascade, then your chain becomes 1, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, depending on if you consume procs immediately or at the end of the chain.

    Since each weaponskill in the base chain has a 50% chance to proc an empowered version of itself, our total possible combinations are 2 * 2, or 4.

    In case someone doesn't believe the math:

    If our base chain was 4 and each of those had a 50% of being empowered, our total possible combinations would be 4 * 4 , or 16:
