I know quite a few adult female cosplayers who dress in EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita) Style and would very much disagree with your statement.

EGL =/= lolicon
The former is fashion that makes you look like an old timey porcelain doll. The latter is art sexualizing anime children. Your friends would object to being called a lolicon because thats waaaaay off base from what they're up to ^^;
