In a game with E8S why is SE banning people with suggestive Adventurer Plates?

Do I think it is childish to have suggestive Adventurer Plates? Yes.

Should they be warned? Yes.

Should they be harshly banned (3-20 days)? No.

I don't think there is a good reason to be banning people for a suggestive adventurer plate that doesn't even show any nudity. Square Enix knows EXACTLY what they're doing when they added in subligars, swimwear, Coeurl briefs, 2B thighs and the like.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. So many facets of this game are built to facilitate suggestive and 18+ activities. They know their thirsty audience and they want to monetize them. But the moment they go a bit public? That's a ban.

Slapping them with a 20-day ban is way too extreme for something that 99% of adults would not be offended by, minus an eye-roll. You get a lower ban duration for harassing someone in chat and using racial profanity.

Most of the suggestive poses so far are tamer than whatever music video Nicki Minaj or Cardi B made in the past ten years. This is such a disproportionate punishment for something most adults aren't bothered by.

I'm questioning if these people getting the suspensions already had prior offenses because there's been variance between people just getting warnings and actual suspensions.

Considering how ill-defined this matter is I do think they should probably just warn people for first time offenses.

I think it's kind of obvious that portraits that are just a close-up of your character's butt/chest/groin with as little of their face in view as needed to make the game consider it valid and/or making it look like something inappropriate is going on through "creative" use of camera angles, props and expressions is going a bit too far, though.

Skimpy clothes being present does not mean everyone accepts that people will basically sit on the camera for the instant portraits or use props and angles to imply sexual activity.

People shouldn't be banned for using in-game art assets to make something that can't even show genitals. It's frankly ridiculous. The people who revel in reporting and banning? They are the worst people. The devs really shot themselves in the foot with this one, how can you put Nier gear in the game, give people the tools, then ban them for using what they're given? Idiotic.

The TOS isn't immutable. It will change. Not that everybody has read it, or knows for sure what is in it. Also, that doesn't make the TOS intelligently enforced. For that matter, what is in it could be stupid.
