Why telling people to unsub is a horrible defense of the game.

The issue is when criticism of the game is met with the retort that you should unsub from the game. I 100% agree you should unsub if you aren't having fun and it's what I am doing after my house rots on Thursday, however if people still want to play the game and just want to provide criticism or recommendations for things to make the game better, telling them to just unsub is unhelpful for everyone. That being said, I hope 7.0 makes some changes for the game to be fun for me again...

I agree that criticism is helpful and should not be met with "hur hur unsub" every time someone has a concern. But I think the difference is, some criticism is surrounded with such vitriol for the game, one often wonders why they sub at all. Some posters haven't had a nice thing to say about FFXIV in months, which is a headscratcher. Along with melodrama, where XIV is viewed as things such as an "utter failure" with "nothing at all to do" - well, why sub?

There are 1000s of entertainment products out there, and amazing experiences to be had outside XIV. If the game makes you so miserable, it's time to take a break. But I feel for some, they are co-dependent on the game in some way, have a sunk-cost fallacy going on, or they actually just get enjoyment out of being unhappy on the forums.

The only issue I still have is the housing system though - if they move to a 4 month content model, housing should be safe and protected for 4 months.

Going back to my point earlier, it's a matter of personal preference. I personally still am trying to solo Orthos so for me the content still has longevity to it, especially since I also want the mount out of it which requires 4 clears.

The content available just isn't appealing to you, not that it doesn't exist at all.

I'll grant you that's one whole mount to work towards. Not really something that will get the masses rushing to do it, especially as again, the weapons serve no purpose other than glamour. And as I've explained, you can't do this with variant/criterion or the island sanctuary, it's literally impossible.

Either you like and worship the game like they do, or you dont like it and you should leave, its really pathetic to think that way but its just what they do, you cant like housing for example, or fishing, or even venues, or certain parts of the content the game has to offer, if you want the game to be better/improve in any way, you should just quit according to them

I love this game. It's by no means perfect. Guess what I do when I'm done having fun with it. I unsub. Now what do YOU do when you stop having fun with it? make angry forum posts? Which do you think SE cares more about? Do you really believe that they're sitting here taking notes on what people are upset about compared to looking at the number of subscriptions, why people unsub, when people unsub, etc?

Good for you, you don't get to dictate others do the same. Me and many others here are giving feedback and discussing issues with the game and you contribute precisely nothing, trying your hardest to stop all discussion by just yelling at people to unsub. Why exactly are you here? This forum is literally for feedback. People just quietly unsubbing isn't going to tell the devs what's wrong with the game. How many times do people need to post that same screenshot of Yoshida pointing out that criticism is worth twice a compliment before you finally get it?
