    Connection problems [Packet Loss] Light EU - Odin

    Hello.

    I have now been experiencing severe packet losses for several days now. At random intervals while playing FFXIV, my game simply freezes with sending/receiving dropping to zero (0), causing 1-10 seconds long time windows where I'm unable to do anything in-game.

    I ran few tracing to server IP, and these are the results.

    These packet losses have basically prevented me from doing anything even slightly challenging content, as I can't react to mechanics that happen on background due to lost packets. Few times I've just encountered instant death in game as I haven't even seen the mechanic.

    Hopefully these could be solved soon.

    Yeah this type of issue has been happening to a decent amount of people based on the threads, including me. For me it just shows "0" and i can move but everything else is frozen and it does "catch up" afterwards. and ofc im dead afterwards because i was in a mechanic.

    Status update: I'm still having same problems. Random packet loss freezes now and then, which are quite annoying to deal with.

    I had some few days now where I didn't notice the problem that much, or at all. But sadly this evening it increased in frequency again.

    Was trying to tank Snowcloak for roulette, and my connection froze for nearly 10 seconds four times each during the dungeon run.

    Is there really nothing that can be done to solve this, or at the very least decrease the problem?

    Whilst playing earlier (October 5), I experienced heavy connection problems, which both resulted in disconnection. Upon attempting to re-connect, I got lobby error, which forced my game down.

    I was able to connect to any other data center just fine, but for an moment my connection to Light was completely blocked following both disconnects.

    I'm inclined to believe there may be some peering (routing) issues between your ISP and Square Enix' datacentre.

    Hi.

    I suspected same myself. So I contacted my ISP before creating this thread, since it wouldn't be first time there's issues, but they kept insisting that it's not problem at their end.
    Maybe I'll give them another call tomorrow, since this can't keep going. It's been two months already.
