You could at least pretend to read what he wrote. He's not talking about Tank using shirk in the middle of fight but literally pulling with single target hir, Shirking and staying down without further attacking the mobs which would make them go after party if they started attacking.Provoke generates a ton of enemity while shirk only transfers 25% of it, a tank won't lose aggro of something by shirking, that's why during a tank swap you NEED a Provoke but Shirk is optional. And it's very easy to avoid being killed by shirk shenanigans if you pay attention to what the tank is doing... And it's kinda jarring when anybody is standing here doing nothing.
Oh, I have seen the same people advocating for a decently safe playstyle but being against Rescue.
But feel free to keep ignoring everything else I said because of that.
I think nay sayers should just deal with it. I bet they’ll move on to complaining about something else soon enough.

I did read and he wrote voke + "in the middle of a pull", which implies already a fair amount of aggro generated.
And my own anecdotal evidence is that the people I know who despise rescue also wouldn't advocate for vercure or clemency outside of downtime or extreme situations. Go generalizations!

When we start comparing my moving of the pixels with a utility skill to being violated I begin to wonder how easy of life certain people have had.. Kinda ridiculous buuuuut there are many many unique types out there especially on the internets.
Have nothing of the nice to say and can only hopes Square is able to differentiate the mentally stable from the mentally unstable when making decisions about keeping or removing skills. Must state when I rescue someone "taking control away from them" was not even thought entertained. Was too busy thinking; "Are they gonna make it? Hmm. Does not look like they are gonna make it." or "Shoot we need to be over here right fricken now and they are over there quick rescue now! Alrighty good all clear no wiping today." May even feel satisfaction at having done the clutch thing. Hoped the other player felt same way.
Asking some poor friends/extended family and best friend number one and she said she loves using Rescue. It makes her experience happiness that she has become much of the better at timing it. Little did she know that while she was happy to prevent a tpk situation, someone else was fuming about how their control was taken away - character violated - annnd position dictated by her timely Rescue.
Because of course she would not be thinking this! Thinking such things would be umm.. tad unhealthy no? Perhaps indicative of certain control issues that might best be resolved by seeking assistance from trained professional. Seriously? The heck am I even reading in here?

Bro losing control of your character never feels good in any video game, especially if it comes from someone who's supposed to be your teammate, you only have to look at Tahm Kench's release in LoL to understand that. Not liking losing control and having your experience messed with without a genuinely good reason doesn't make someone mentally unstable, it's perfectly normal. No one is getting an aneurysm over a rescue but it's very evident that it doesn't feel good a majority of the time, and I find it ironic that some of yall go "but think of the poor well-meaning healer's experience! heartless psychopath!" when distaste towards rescue is expressed but the experience of the rescued person is "no big deal, go seek therapy, you have anger issue".When we start comparing my moving of the pixels with a utility skill to being violated I begin to wonder how easy of life certain people have had.. Point taken. Although I'm not sure how hard would it be to beat 75% of tank's aggro should they decide to forgo maintaining it during the fight. Speaking of provoke as well... I'm pretty sure it doesn't generate actuall aggro rather than just putting you temporarily on top which is why during tank swaps an offtank needs to start slapping the boss like no tomorrow as otherwise it'll start playing with the other members of the party.I did read and he wrote voke + "in the middle of a pull", which implies already a fair amount of aggro generated.

Provoke used to merely put the user at the top of the list but not anymore, idr the exact number but on top of putting the tank at the top it also generates a crazy amount of enimity. Something you'd have to afk for a while to have a dps/healer steal it from you.Point taken. Oh. Wasn't aware of that. Thank you for clarifying that. Guess I mistakenly found an old guide...
