Not necessarily. Sometimes someone follows you around with their circles either as a coincidence or because they are new and see that you avoid damage and you end up being cornered. Also twice last week I got the tank buster on a dancer: once in Alzadaal's Legacy because the tank died and once in Aglaia (the tank was alive but didn’t know what he was doing). There’s no escape from that and being at full health with Shield Samba was not enough to survive.
Rescue can come in handy in some situations.

Oh, this absolutely does happen. Always have to be ready to run away from them, though or otherwise adjust for people who aren't cooperative or otherwise don't understand what to do.Sometimes it isn't really a skill issue.
I have had people run towards with me with their AOE, for some reason.
Like, I am deliberately running with my AOE into the corner of a room, far from anybody else, and then another fella with his AOE comes and stands on top of me for some baffling reason.
I think some people just get overwhelmed when it happens, so they just instinctively follow others. Still annoying, though.
Kinda like with that dungeon (forgot the name) with the box where you have to open the box to turn into an old lady so you can't be seduced. Even if you tell everybody how it works beforehand, newbies still instinctively run toward the box that somebody else has used. That part isn't tough to heal through anyway and it causes barely any damage to somebody who does get seduced, but still.
I definitely think rescue should stay. Yes, some players will do a little trolling with it. If it seemed deliberate and you're inclined to report the player for griefing, do so and move on. Most players use it for its intended purpose or not at all though. Not necessarily. I don't see how this could go wrong. Make it work through arms length with a short 15 second cd and it'll be great.
Can we get a skill to add vuln stacks to party/alliance members?

I save people with Rescue all the time. It's useful when you know a sprout is new to a dungeon and you know what always kills them and you see them about to be killed by it.
A random example. If you are in A10 and you see someone standing on the traps and triggering them over and over again, you can rescue them and thereby rescue the party.
It's useful even in the latest dungeon. There is a part on the first boss where you must be on a certain side, and if you run to the wrong side, you might be dead. You can save them and bring them to the correct side.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

It is easier to realise which mechanics kill you if they actually kill you.

A tank can quickly kill his OT if he has a physical vuln stack with Shirk. A tank can also cleave the entire group. A spiteful healer can refuse to raise a down player. Ice mage.
You might want to consider how players currently troll instead of getting all pissy about things that don't even exist.

I've played SWTOR, so yes. I'm very aware of how players troll. And also how even push would work.A tank can quickly kill his OT if he has a physical vuln stack with Shirk. A tank can also cleave the entire group. A spiteful healer can refuse to raise a down player. Ice mage.

Just to give an example, there is a boss in SWTOR that hit the main tank with a debuff causing the take damage from healing. It lasted after the boss died. The tank with it would become the sole focus of the healer after said boss died to kill the tank before the debuff wears off. For just the purpose of trolling. Oh and they have/had rescue work out of combat and you can fall off the open world.

Damn this post was necro'd from far back. Besides my opinion of Rescue has changed since then. People have been using it appropriately for a while since I've originally posted this.
