Would it be possible to buff side quest XP??

Not even by a whole lot. It's just a little confusing why the Dev team spends so much time creating so many side quests for us to enjoy - and then seems to actively go out of the way to de-incentivize players from using them for leveling purposes. I just think it wouldn't harm anything to allow players another avenue for efficient leveling for a single side-job.

It wouldn't harm queue times, if anything it would help DPS jobs that can do the side quests faster than some of their queue times - because Side Quests are finite and non-repeatable, so players would only be able to utilize them for one extra class and then any others after that would need to rely on the usual methods.

Even just a 50% experience boost to doing side quests - make it built into the Armory Bonus - would go a long way to allowing players to play the main story with one class; then come back and tackle all the side quests left behind with an alt job and level it efficiently and effectively.

As it stands, a single level 80 FATE can give roughly 200-300k experience in Endwalker while the equivalent level 80 side quest is only roughly 164k experience - which equates to being a whopping 30+ side quests to go a single level.

With a 50% Armory Boost to side quest xp - I think players could experience the side quests without feeling like they're wasting their time getting paltry exp rewards; be able to get an extra job role leveled up; and it wouldn't feel as if the Devs are wasting their time making all these side quests that the majority of players most likely just ignore if they don't reward gear they need.

Yeah, doing all the side-quests in one zone hardly gives a level. Which is just depressing.

For example's sake - I hit 80 on my Ninja today after grinding some dungeons; and was ready to knock out the entirety of side quests I left behind... going in order from upper Labyrnthos (sp?) (because the lower is level 88) to Thavnair (sp?) pre-Radz it took every side quest available for those two zones to go from 80-81 just on side quest exp and maybe one or two fates... not even enough to be able to continue the side quests chain because Garlemald is like 83-84 in level if I recall. It just feels like they are erring on the side of overly cautious because they're afraid dungeon queues would suffer if players could level 1 extra job off side quests and the occasional FATE (not grinding them) for some reason.

I do think side quests could stand a bit of an XP buff. It's possible to use them effectively for leveling, but to do so you really need to stack the buffs. Doing the MSQ on GNB (to duo everything with my in-game best friend who mains WHM) and leveling WHM alongside, I was able to use the side quests (plus a handful of FATEs) to effectively keep WHM almost on pace with GNB (generally about 80% of a level behind). But I had the armory bonus (any time WHM didn't catch up, anyway), plus I'd made a stockpile of Grade 3 company XP buffs ahead of time and the FC kept that up for the first month of Endwalker, plus I always had the +3% XP food buff going.

I recognize side-quests are more meant to be things that flesh out the world for lore-nerds like me -- and I will continue to do them all for that reason, regardless of XP -- but it does feel like it'd be nice if you didn't have to stack quite so many buffs in order to make them also effective for leveling. I think it's fine if they don't give you as much XP in a zone as the MSQ does, but it'd be nice if they gave a little more than they presently do.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

Side Quests scale to your level. I did the Ultima Thule Quests with a level 83 Bard, for example.

I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.
