3 copied factories, 4 puppet bunkers, 2 paradigm breach
It's actually been great for collecting missing glamour pieces.
As for the CT series itself. Maybe they should just crunch the ilvl sync on the duties to match the ilvl of the gear that actually drops there so ppl will need to complete mechanics on them?
On one hand, I agree. CT being mandatory, and the mere fact the Trial people will be playing it, are enough reasons to shove it elsewhere. To make matters worse, it's no secret that people specifically lower their item level just to force Crystal Tower. And no matter how many times we bring attention to Square Enix on this, they haven't done anything to change it.
On the other hand, it will change MSQ roulette from a 4-man experience to a 24-man. Or at least make it mixed, and Square may nitpick about people already knowing in advance what they'll get in a roulette.
Either way, we also need to be careful asking about this. YES it would make CT not appear as much\at all in the Alliance Raid roulette, but what's it to say that the lowering item level to force Void Ark won't be a problem either? Especially since Trial people will also have access to it as well, even if it isn't mandatory.
Alternatively, buff the CT raids so they're no longer brainless, similar to how the MSQ dungeons were buffed. CT is so boring, but it didn't used to be that way- you used to have to do mechanics, like activating the towers in King Behemoth, or killing adds for Glasya Labolas. When was the last time you saw Acheron use his bacon strip attack?
CT is a joke now, but it's honestly something that could be fixed by implementing a simple ilevel cap. Please, for the love of god, do it. These CAN BE and were fun raids.
Yeah, buffing the fights so they're harder would be fine too. Just something to breath some life into them. As it is right now, the hardest thing about CT is getting first in the race to the next boss.
I have a better idea: re-tune it. Redo every, single, fight Ala Prae.
The problem with CT is not the frequency you get it. It's that it's not fun.
Honestly, just fix the item level sync so we're not horribly outgearing LOTA and ST and see how many people remember any of the old mechanics. Or how many people remember Glasya Labolas has mechanics at all.
That could work, but considering how old those raids are, it might actually be easier to just redo the fights like they did with Castrum, Prae, and Ultimate Weapon. They definitely can't throw them in the main story roulette, as the OP suggests. Especially after they finally fixed it in a way that most players seem to be ok with. There are also mechanics in those raids that are severely outdated; such as players losing control of their characters in fights like Scylla and Amon. Lastly, as you suggested, they sync the ilv so the mechanics remain relevant. Xande, and Cloud of Darkness in particular should not be pushovers like they are now. These beings lore wise, are some of the most powerful the WoL has faced.
This would undoubtedly lengthen the time to get through the CT raids, but oh well. It also keeps players from naked queuing into it.
Actually got Sircus Tower today and noticed they changed the markers on the last boss to match the standardized stack marker they used later. So at least baby steps are being made to update this old content lol. That could work, but considering how old those raids are, it might actually be easier to just redo the fights like they did with Castrum, Prae, and Ultimate Weapon. Pepperidge Farm remembers.
I think that's why CT raids are so painfully boring for me now. Sure it's "fast" (if people pay attention even a little), but having done them when they were relevant content and seeing what they're like now, it's like doing it unsynced. It's not interesting. And if I'm going to get the exp/tomes/etc. anyway, I'd rather also have fun. The higher the level, the better. The easiest route is not fun for me.
And then those same people that take us there just say "queue for the raids you want then" as if it doesn't take 30+ minutes to get into Orbonne because so many people who could get put in via roulette are cheesing their ilevels.
