I stopped doing the Alliance raid roulette for weeks, maybe even a couple of months because I was sick of CT. Hopped back into it last night just to see what would happen...Labyrinth. Guess I'm going back to not doing that anymore.
Alternatively, buff the CT raids so they're no longer brainless, similar to how the MSQ dungeons were buffed. CT is so boring, but it didn't used to be that way- you used to have to do mechanics, like activating the towers in King Behemoth, or killing adds for Glasya Labolas. When was the last time you saw Acheron use his bacon strip attack?
CT is a joke now, but it's honestly something that could be fixed by implementing a simple ilevel cap. Please, for the love of god, do it. These CAN BE and were fun raids.
I have a better idea: re-tune it. Redo every, single, fight Ala Prae.
The problem with CT is not the frequency you get it. It's that it's not fun.
3 copied factories, 4 puppet bunkers, 2 paradigm breach
It's actually been great for collecting missing glamour pieces.
As for the CT series itself. Maybe they should just crunch the ilvl sync on the duties to match the ilvl of the gear that actually drops there so ppl will need to complete mechanics on them?
Honestly, just fix the item level sync so we're not horribly outgearing LOTA and ST and see how many people remember any of the old mechanics. Or how many people remember Glasya Labolas has mechanics at all.
Yeah, buffing the fights so they're harder would be fine too. Just something to breath some life into them. As it is right now, the hardest thing about CT is getting first in the race to the next boss.
I seem to get a decent spread and can't remember the last time I saw a CT run that didn't have a new person. That's always going to skew the numbers. But considering it's 24 man content it doesn't make sense to be in a roulette where players are expecting 4-man content. We can queue for content manually that has different party sizes but minus the one guildhest (and Mentor) the other roulettes match party size and I wouldn't be surprised if that has to relate to the design and choice of what to have roulettes for.
Why do you want to dumb content further into 4manning CT?I'm not sure how it is on other data centers, but on Crystal, alliance raid roulette has just become Crystal Tower roulette. People will strip to get a guaranteed CT run simply because they want the XP and don't want to run anything with even slightly complicated mechanics.
CT is an excellent introduction to alliance raids, but its prevalence in ally raid roulette is frankly, so bad myself and many other people I know simply do not run it anymore. MSQ roulette only has 3 (formerly 2) possible options. Doing this would bulk up the diversity of content in MSQ roulette and allow people who are queuing for alliance raids to experience something other than CT.
The only potential issue I see with this would be people abandoning Castrum/Prae/Porta in favor of CT, but people have been leaving MSQ content in favor of the other because of efficiency since before I started playing.
Its already hard getting a NieR AR because people will literally make me wait 30 mins for q.

That could work, but considering how old those raids are, it might actually be easier to just redo the fights like they did with Castrum, Prae, and Ultimate Weapon. They definitely can't throw them in the main story roulette, as the OP suggests. Especially after they finally fixed it in a way that most players seem to be ok with. There are also mechanics in those raids that are severely outdated; such as players losing control of their characters in fights like Scylla and Amon. Lastly, as you suggested, they sync the ilv so the mechanics remain relevant. Xande, and Cloud of Darkness in particular should not be pushovers like they are now. These beings lore wise, are some of the most powerful the WoL has faced.
This would undoubtedly lengthen the time to get through the CT raids, but oh well. It also keeps players from naked queuing into it.
